Maybe in Ranieri’s system, but under EDF no way.

Only guy I'd be concerned about is Under. Can't envision him playing LM when he comes back , but who knows.

Maybe that is what they need. Its not like EDF’s next level strats were doing us any good.

Basic tactics and relying on players qualities > lvl 9000 strats with Olsen and Fazio at the back.

haha it's possible , I have no idea. Part of me always felt EDF's philosophy required better players than we could (or did) provide him.

At this point , it's all about getting results and into top 4. I don't care how we do it for the time being.

If Claudio can turn around Schick's career , that's just a bonus.

One good thing about Ranieri is he will do things his way and won’t listen to or succumb to media pressure. I recalll him pulling both DDR and Totti at halftime during a derby because he saw them both nervous and they won the game I believe. He is a no non sense manager which may be what these guys need right now.

I haven’t seen a coach at Roma pull off the flat 4-4-2 since 2004 when Capello played Totti and Cassano upfront.

Rudi and EDF dabbled with it a bit without much success. We’ll see if Ranieri can make it work.

Will be interesting to see if he can get the work rate needed out of the centre midfield. That might be the weakest part of a straight forward game plan. Get that right and Roma should be consistent enough to push the Milan's.

I'd be pretty interested in Giampaolo. I think he'd require a lot less than Gasperini and he'd hopefully be able to bring Sampdoria-Schick back.

Please explain to me where Gasp has had any success at any team with more ambition than Salvezza San Salvador.

Gasp is just like Mazzarri good for smaller teams but put them at a big team and they fail.

Mazzarri was lucky to have the best attacking trident Napoli has ever had since Dio played for us back in the 80s.

He’s coached 5 games at Inter then was canned. This is why Carmine(like his father Falvo) think he’ll fail at any big club.

Keep posting your pictures of random flowers and birds, we(Me) don’t need your opinion on football.

No the reason why I think he is not good for a team like Roma is no top team has come looking for him in his 10+ years he has been coach other than inter. Im not saying he is a bad coach but if you think he is going to bring Roma any real success then you are dreaming.

Furthermore Roma would of been better off keeping EDF till the end of the season.

For me, maybe even more so than tactics, the utmost important thing is that we get a strong headed manager who can take the media attention and pressure off of the players and onto himself.

Gasperini did well at Genoa and at Atalanta. He was canned twice at Palermo but that's not hard to do with Zamparini as an owner. Remains to be see how he will do at a big club like Roma. No one will know if he will be better or worse until he comes in.

Genoa let him go at one point as well.
