Right. Fair enough. I haven't heard him actually say that he wants to start his career in management in an English speaking country. Sorry but I don't trust a lot of what the Scottish media writes (for obvious reasons and I am sure you feel the same) unless the individual they are writing about has actually said that. I would just be very surprised that he would come back to Scotland at all (for any club) at this stage of his career when his star is shining so brightly. Returning to manage in the SPFL would be like managing under Stephen King's dome and no matter how bright his star shines it could soon wane under those circumstances. The league is improving (slowly) but there are still numerous far better alternatives than I our own country at the minute unfortunately.
Agreed there is alternatives. But the chance to implement a coaching system must be enticing. Rangers as a football structure is a blank canvas. All positions need to be filled.
As Tom Cruise once said... "and the hits just keep on coming..." http://news.stv.tv/west-central/313...rangers-director-over-prophet-mohammed-tweet/ Chris Graham has resigned as a director of Rangers just three days after his appointment to the board.
Actually had quite a long debate with friends over this. It really does stink of a smear campaign and in the context of freedom of speech and not living a place where you are killed for talking I support his tweet. A few of my friends are arguing he should have known better which is fair enough. A shame for the guy though. He has been one of the main driving forces of the campaign to get the board out and has endured threats to his safety and family and legal threats from the Rangers board as well. He's probably just made too many enemies over the last few years. I wonder if DC Gow will now put himself forward.
At the end of the day, in this day and age, he has to know that if he tweets something that could be considered even the least bit inflammatory then he is in for the high jump. Jeez, I have friends with very small businesses that have to be careful about what they tweet. If they are aware of that then there is absolutely no excuse for him unfortunately.
See I disagree. Tweeting a message to someone who thinks 9/11 and the London bombings were great is a good thing. He was trying to justify people being murdered for a cartoon. That will never be ok. You need to stand up to that as well as a society.
I think there are better ways to go about it than tweeting an image of the prophet Mohammed wa**ing off Jar Jar Binks. He's supposed to be an intelligent individual. Surely he must have known there would be repercussions over it??
Chris Graham Statement. "Freedom of speech is one of the foundations that our country is built upon. However, with that freedom comes a responsibility to be sensitive to the views of all our nation's communities. "This tweet did not do that. For that I apologise unreservedly. "I also tweeted my support for the Muslim community during exchanges that day but even so I accept that re-tweeting that cartoon was inappropriate. "I am extremely proud to have played a part in helping Rangers to secure regime change but I have had to take this decision for my family and the club itself. I wish the current board the very best of luck going forward."
Only asked because I thought there was a certain time limit in place before they are de-listed if no one is appointed.
Found this. Says there is no time limit. Seems odd. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...a-financial-expert-answers-some-key-questions
Sports Direct takes Rangers fan to court over effort to access shareholder register http://www.theguardian.com/business...rt-over-effort-to-access-shareholder-register Interesting. Not sure if Ashley can do this?
http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...k-exchange-after-failing-to-find-new-adviser/ Dave King four weeks ago - 'we will have a new NOMAD appointed within a day or so' Nice start Dave.
What was the upshot of Rangers not paying their taxes and being sent down to the fourth division? Did anyone ever get prosecuted for that?
I can't work out what is going on with this to be honest. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/apr/02/rangers-delisted-stock-exchange
If you are talking about Craig Whyte deducting the tax and not paying it when he was in charge then I believe he is out on bail at the moment.
