Thank you. What's your source? I was wondering where Baloy ranked. Does anybody know how many times before today at least two Asian teams played without losing. Japan and South Korea did it at home on June 4 and 14, 2002. Was today the first time two Asian teams played without losing while not in Asia?
At Russia 2018, Iran only scored in stoppage time, as did Saudi Arabia. Both teams scored two goals in stoppage time. Another WC team which only scored in stoppage time was Austria in France '98. They scored stoppage-time goals in all three of their matches. In the cases of Iran and Austria, they only scored in second-half stoppage time. South Korea in 2018 also has a single second-half stoppage time goal, and could join this list if they either fail to score against Germany or score only in stoppage time again.
On June 18, 2006, Japan drew Croatia 0-0 and South Korea drew France 1-1. I didn't check the World Cups before '98, but it's unlikely this happened before then, given that AFC previously had only 2 spots max.

What's the closest in alphabetical order that countries who have played each other in the World Cup are? Sweden and Switzerland could play in the Round of 16. Poland played Portugal in 2002, and Sweden and Switzerland are closer in alphabetical order than that.
Only four teams left in the Race to the Bottom: Egypt (0/-4, no games left), Poland (0/-4, vs. Japan left) and two that play each other in the last game: Panama (0/-8) and Tunisia (0/-4). Unless Tunisia manages the tie or a loss, Panama's got this one in the bag.
