Totally. And I really appreciate him not losing his way after his European failure. In my opinion, playing with River Plate and being a factor in the Copa Libertadores title is much worth and better than to be an average player in Villareal. He is young, talented, his time will come in Europe if he'll know how to keep his good form stable. To be more consistent. Hope to see him play for Colombia in the Copa America.

    75% actually

Yeah, if a decent offer comes they’ll analyze it, but there’s no way they’re going to loan him as someone suggested above

That was under the assumption Atletico still had the rights. Not River.

    1. Zapatas "problems" are different to borre problems.....as well as their virtues..
    2. borre wont be in better hand than with gallardo......to improve..........gasperini effect (hope isnt the case) usually only works for him....(gagliardini, kelssie, caldara, conti...)

I have been trying to keep an open mind about Santos Borre the last few months but every time I see him he misses his opportunities or gets a penalty saved like in the Libertadores.
Definitely not a good option as a lone striker #9 in Queiroz's system in my mind.

However, he does position himself well and his passing and triangulation with the other players is solid. Maybe he can be like the "Ilicic" type role that starts with Duvan and gives him service. I could see him flourishing like that. Might be a better fit for his skill set than what we saw in Korea with Morelos next to Zapata.

    Just my random thoughts.

This. And it's not just that his finishing is bad. It's as if he goes into full panic and forgets how to be striker whenever he gets the ball in the area. Most of the time he doesn't even force a save from the keeper.

The way people reacted to Morelos' debut, Borre would get crucified.

Monterrey is said to be preparing an offer for him, although for now Borre himself would be discarding it since his priority is to return to Europe.

i was wondering what was taking the mexicans so long to join in, I saw the interest from monterrey. Completely forgot I had posted that but really does not surprise me that they are already sniffing around.
