I'm on superfast DSL and I still think about page loads - the fewer I deal have to deal with makes me a happy camper.
What I think is funny is that my impatience threshold has lowered with each quantum leap forward in technology. The me that once waited days for mail to arrive would have laughed (foolishly, it turns out) at the suggestion that I would one day be tsk-ing annoyedly at the occasional few seconds extra I have to wait for a page to load on DSL.
