Nope. Looked like a pass all the way. The announcers have never suggested it was anything but a great (their word) pass.
Pulisic almost with another chance at goal, ball is rolling across the face of goal and Pulisic was just a step behind for what would have been an easy tap in.
Dortmund still needs to pick it up when transitioning back to defense. That includes Pulisic not going at a half jog 75 minutes in. At times the 3-4 forward players are barely trying to get back once the ball turns over.
bookended with moments of uninspired attack. What I don't like about Stogers style of coaching is that he keeps teams in it that have no business being only a goal down. The scouting report on CP is out: Just defend him two deep. He beats first man, but no the second.
I feel like Pulisic's performance was about like last week--good runs with and without the ball, but the end product still lacking a bit. The assist was very nice, but I think he should have had at least one of those balls at the back post.
Who is the backup GK for Dortmund? It's hard to imagine that whoever that is would be shakier than Burki.
He was miles better than last week. In every aspect of the game, he brought it up a notch. Better dribbling, smarter decisions, only a couple bad passes, better defending. And top it off with an assist. I think kicker gives him at 2.5
Yeah, he was effective. Having Reus out there obviously makes a huge difference. Had a few good crosses, almost had two goals and didn’t have as many turnovers. Great game to build on
I know most will think this an irrelevant question, but for context, please tell me who scored from the Pulisic assist and how did the play evolve?
Reus to Puli to Batman, goal. Clearly a cross too, diagonal across the keeper, very nice: https://cc.sporttube.com/embed/yA1CCCG/no-preload Sad about HSV though, they're going down with their boots on. Even Bobby had a decent game, still he'll get his Kicker 6. PS: Reus & Puli got some good chemistry. Both must start!
I've watched the replay a bunch and honestly am not sure, Body language was shot, but ball came off the boot cleanly, low and hard across the goal-mouth. I think it will go down as the CP version of the Clint Dempsey far-post chip goals of yore.
This is why it's not clear, he sold it like a shot, and it was either a really brilliant sell to freeze the D/keeper and an inch prefect pass, or it was an attmept to go far-post he came around too much on. I think the former, but I understand why some could think the latter.
