Another great attacking effort created by Pulisic dribbling near the end line, right after the PK. His Dortmund teammates are not able to get a clear shot off, however.
Sancho is tripped up dribbling to the Dortmund half of the field, and Bodzek earns a straight red card with a cleat straight to Sancho's leg.
5 minutes of stoppage time. Favre makes the defensive sub of Schmelzer for Pulisic, and Pulisic is given a round of applause in his final appearance in yellow in Dortmund. Goetze scores to make it 3-1. Time to flip the channel to Fox to watch RB-Bayern.
If you're a fan of BvB, you got to be damn frustrated. They just can't finish a game or hold onto any leads, with any level of confidence and consistency.[/QUOTE]
The traits you're describing don't make for a championship winning team. The fact that Dortmund are still in this title race heading into the last game of the season is mostly a testament to how incompetent Bayern have been this year.
You can say the same thing about BvB. Bayern is leading the table, because of BvB's incompetence in the 2nd half of the season.
Yeah, Dortmund have had plenty of opportunities to wrap the league up. They dropped 8 points in 3 games to Schalke, Augsburg, and Nurnberg in the second half of the season!
The point is that in most any other Bundesliga season in recent times, if Dortmund played the way they had this season, they would not be in the title race at all. They would be a distant 2nd or 3rd to Bayern, at best. (As they have been in the past several seasons). Whereas, if Bayern played the way they had this season, well you'd probably get something similar to the title race you have now. Which is to say Bayern's performance this year is much more atypical for a first place Bundesliga team (usually Bayern) than Dortmund's performance is for a runner-up.
Morales scored today for Dusseldorf... its a pity that the thread titles for all the players are so dumb or it would be easy to find his thread and give him a shout out for scoring.... alas its hard to find
