I will say that if we had played them a week ago we would have likely won. Always tough to face a team when they get a new manager boost. But we gave up 3 terrible goals. The D was atrocious.... and the O looked rather passionless.
I’m glad the game has evolved (at least sometimes). That style is not fun to watch in my opinion. The result ends up feeling somewhat random. I’m sure there are folks out there that love it.
It was so predictable and Chelsea's D still couldn't stop it. Just a poor game all around. Hard to get up at 4:15AM to watch that. :-(
What i saw 1 - Everton was hungrier, they wanted it more 2 - Chelsea players look tired and uninspired 3 - Poor roster/game management by Lampard. Same exact starting 11 after 4 days? 4 - That D is horrid i say, extremely horrid As for Pulisic, he was clearly targeted and beaten up today on purpose. He need to learn to ride the tackles better, get those early fouls in and earn some early yellows to get the D off of his back.
1 win in the last 5 games. Lampard has some work to do before Lille. Actually, lots of work to do. They should have gotten at least 3 wins from these past 5 opponents.
CP was muscled off the ball and/or fouled every time he got the ball. The only way for a light player to counter that is with quickness. Normally he is quick but looked a 1/2 step slower than normal and that made a big difference. Lampard should move him wide when the opposition plays him physically.
Or have a modern ref who doesn’t allow brawling. This was some old school reffing: no bones showing, no foul.
