Swansea in the South Semis too I think? A group of Players who have again shown the heart & Desire to win what turned out to be a scrappy but very competitive Game v @WFCOfficial Sticking to their principles & a game plan that got us the goals to progress to the semi Final of the Premier League Floodlit Cup. pic.twitter.com/ehtdBbci4V— Matt Jones (@MattJones__7) March 6, 2019
It's more than likely going to be WBA with their 15s groups history. Although Villa and Leicester seem decent. Leicester just sent their 15s (some 14s maybe) to India where they beat Arsenal 14s 1-0 in Indian Super League. Game is on the net. But not many will be standing in City u15s way in any case.
So basically we have. NORTH Wigan Newcastle Stoke Man City v WBA or Villa or Leicester SOUTH Reading Chelsea Walsall v Swansea Tottenham or Arsenal or Norwich v Charlton or Palace or Wimbledon
It was actually today. Palace beat Arsenal 4-1 UNDER 15 FLOODLIT CUP SFs North Wigan Stoke Newcastle tbc South Reading Chelsea Swansea Crystal Palace
Sam Bellis (And Aghatise) with Stoke u18s from Man City. Noticed Ohio was on the bench for Man City last week. Not sure if things might have changed for him.
That's correct. from 2-0 down. What a week for Newcastle's academy at u14 and u15 level. It's fair to say the academy has been disappointing for the catchment area.
2-0 down as well that is good. So that’s untied Newcastle and Sunderland through. Blackburn host city next Sunday. Should be a good game. Not sure how semi finals work. Be good if the North east sides play each other in semi final. When you think Sunderland and Newcastle should be strong when you think of what they have around them in terms of other academies.
I think that Newcastle v Everton game wasn't floodlit cup as you were saying at the time because Sunderland beat Liverpool 4-1 tonight to fit with what you were saying. Joe Hugill with all 4 goals. Man City also beat WBA 5-1 in the other QF in the north. NORTH Wigan,Stoke,Sunderland, Man City SOUTH Chelsea, Palace, Swansea, Reading
Some very underwhelming displays in the UEFA Youth League by the English teams. Our worst showing collectively since it’s inception?
I didn’t see that but saw quite a bit of the Liverpool and Chelsea games. Felt both were quite underwhelming against OK opposition.
Yeah, saw bits of the Liverpool game and from what a I saw it wasn’t particularly impressive. The composure on the ball wasn’t good from what I saw and was often hoofball which surprised me as it just gave Zagreb possession most of the time. Like a I said though didn’t see the whole game so maybe that’s not a true reflection but that seemed to be the pattern every time I tuned in.
Spurs + Liverpool both put out pretty unfamiliar XIs. It showed. Neither were really playing 'normal' systems either, which compounded things.
