A slight correction to this actually. That's the general rule, but with up to three exceptions as follows:

Doesn't apply to Willock though, so he's still ineligible.

Quite interesting to note that we have three of the youngest players to play and score in the UEFA Youth League so far this season. Hudson-Odoi (1 goal), Curtis Jones (3 goals) and Taylor Richards (3 goals).

I've seen Taylor Richards' first two goals so far and both were well taken efforts.

Teams are allowed to name three overage players (only up to a year over I think) in their squads this season. Marcus Edwards is in the Tottenham squad, for example.

Being omitted is not really a bad thing though given Willock is getting decent minutes at a more competitive level.

Yeah, see above. I corrected myself, but in any event Willock hasn't been at Benfica for long enough to qualify as one of the over-age players.

Spurs u19s managed to win 3-2 against Real Madrid when it looked they'd be lucky to get at draw.

FA Youth Cup teams will be interesting as ever. Think Chelsea, City and Arsenal will have some very aggrieved players missing out.

What exactly do you mean by "Think Chelsea, City and Arsenal will have some very aggrieved players missing out"? Just that some players won't get picked for those three side? .

Just think they will have some good players on the bench. Be tough to pick their XIs.

Are there any youth football podcasts out there? Seems a number of people on here that could contribute well and I've never come across any so thought I'd ask....

Liverpool will be expecting to have a good shot at the youth cup this season. They are very strong in attack but have been having problems with a shaky defence so far.

None that I know of. Podcasts are a fast growing interest/passion to many now so it would make sense that one is started soon.

It would be nice for A.N. Other team to break the Man City/Chelsea stranglehold on the competition.

Think so too. Been looking into the possible teams. 2nd years in bold.

    LIVERPOOL

    ATHERTON
    COYLE
    WILLIAMS GLENNON LEWIS
    DIXON-BONNER TAGSETH
    LONGSTAFF JONES CAMACHO
    MILLAR

If they play HUNTER at RB then COYLE goes into preferred mf position. MCAULEY would be unlucky to miss out on a starting spot upfront. GLATZEL and SHARIF play second fiddle to JONES really. Heard GLATZEL picked up another injury unfortunately.

    CHELSEA

I suppose the question is will Ampadu be invovled. If he is I have no idea what they going to do.

    CUMMINGS
    JAMES
    GUEHI PANZO
    STERLING MCEACHRAN GILMOUR CASTILLO
    BROWN
    T-CROSSDALE H-ODOI

Would they play AMPADU at cb or mf ?
GALLAGHER, UWAKWE, MOLA, ANJORIN miss out in mf.
    Forward REDDAN as sub.

    ARSENAL

    VIRGINIA
    D-CAMPBELL MEDLEY OLOWU THOMPSON
    OMOLE
    BENSON
    NELSON
    J-JULES S-ROWE
    BALOGUN

BALLARD & CLARKE miss out in df.

A decent attacking trio off the bench
    SAKA COYLE AMAECHI

    MAN CITY

    SOKOL
    FRIMPONG LATIBEAUDIERE FRANCIS WILSON
    D-BASHIRU
    SMITH
    MATONDO FODEN GARRE
    TOUAIZI

    GK: ANDERSON
    DF: CORRIGAN, GARCIA, OGBETA
    MF: F.NMECHA, DOYLE
    ATT : RICHARDS, POVEDA, POZO
FWD : BOLTON, GONZALEZ, OGUNBY, SIMMONDS, DUNCAN

    MAN UTD

    FOJTICEK
    TANNER
    O'CONNOR ERCOLANI LAIRD
    GARNER GOMES
    PUIGMAL BARLOW CHONG
    BUKART

    DF : B.WILLIAMS, DUNNE, BARRETT
MF/ ATT : BAARS, GREENWOOD, LEVITT

I think you've forgotten Brewster starting. And I'd have thought Greenwood and Doyle too.

They'd be really pissed off if they weren't.

For what it's worth, Spurs will probably go with something like:

    DE BIE
    EYOMA DINZEYI
    L-FOSTER HINDS
    O-BOOTHE
    SKIPP P.MAGHOMA
    MARKANDAY GRIFFITHS PATTERSON

Though I suspect TOB won't be freed up to play now he's with the first team.

Of course yes. Makes Liverpool look an even bigger threat with bench strength like you said.

I imagine Chelsea's FAYC team, at least to start with, will be something like

    Cumming
    James-Ampadu-Guehi
    Sterling-McEachran-Gallagher-Castillo
    Gilmour
    TaylorCrossdale-Brown

Panzo would be LB in a 4-4-2 diamond, which might be used, though it doesn't work if Sterling and James are in the same team, but otherwise those three should be the CBs in a three.

Too old for the Youth Cup now. This year's comp is for players born 1/9/99 and later.

I did somehow completely forget Hudson-Odoi, put him at AMC ahead of Gilmour.

Is Panzo not better than Ampadu. As far as I can see Empadu has just once again benefited from coming through a lower league team. He wasn't good enough to get into England team ahead of Panzo, I understand he had trials but wasn't taken on, he plays for Exeter called up for Wales and all of a sudden he's now better than him?
