So the Crew are playing our first preseason game today?

Well, they are in fact calling it a " freindly" today's game against something called the Ventura County Fusion behind closed doors, smells mostly like a scrimmage.

But they do have a website which appears to be set up to provide game info.

Will be so good to see Milton playing again (when we actually get to watch).

Exactly the lineup I’d expect to see on opening day.

You don't expect Zardes opening day?

I'm sure players will be subbed in and out throughout this scrimmage and the others we'll be playing in the coming days. So it would be stupid to read anything into the lineups.

Of course, that's exactly what we'll do.

Presumably. But my response was about a comment saying that this was the expected lineup for opening day.

Etienne is a dynamic winger that can cause havoc and would do nice as a late game substitution. I like this addition as it’s good upside for the money. There must be a reason he hasn’t stuck with NYRB and FCC, but from what I remember he’s worth a shot. Also, we really need another striker at this point.

Etienne is dynamic for sure, but lacks decision making and final product. Typical domestic-based winger really. Him and Mokhtar fighting for the main sub role off the bench. Etienne has also played as a striker at times, using his pace to get behind the defense. But, again, decision making and final product are limited.

Oh I’m much more interested in an Entienne rehab job than doing my best Kerri Strug over in the Roster Thread about Adi.

Etienne always felt dangerous and I love his pace. In leg 2 of Hell is Real, he felt like the only real attacking presence for the fusslads. I’m good with him as a reserve winger role.

Interesting that Artur started over Trapp. Though with only 3 established CMs on the roster, perhaps Porter wanted a passer out there at all times.

Would be interesting to see the subs. Still, save for Zardes, the other 9 are the presumed starters.

Goals for JJ, Berry, and Griffin are all good signs.

There is absolutely no reason to take stock in a closed door scrimmage lineup in January.
