Splarg is England... so it's 11.38pm there.

Did he know we we were drafting today?

I have a suggestion. I just checked who Brian selected 1st last year. As an avowed Scouse fan, he chose Owen.

I move we select Owen for Brian as his first round pick. 2nd? discussion? move the nominations cease? absent any objections:

    I Hate Man U
    Rnd 1- Owen_ Liverpool_ 171 11.0
    Rnd 2 -

If we go with 9, we could always do an expansion draft type of thing later.

We'll have every manager protect 7 of his 15-player roster, leaving the other 8 unprotected (the exact # can be decided on later).

This forms forms a pool of players for the 10th manager (whether it be Splrag or someone else) to pick from at a later date. Once a player is taken, that manager gets to select another to put on the protected list, no more than 3 players from one team. The manager fills out the rest of his roster from free agency.

    JG_Revs -- Seems too complicated, I like Hal's idea.

Well, the expansion draft would comes after this draft anyways. So we can revisit that idea later.

In the meantime, Many Points FC selects:

    Geremi, Chelsea. 9.0.

What if Splarg says bugger it, i'm not interested...who, and when, do those players come available to?

9 might have been the way to go, but i'll go along to get along.

If Splarg doesn't like it.... the players go into the pool.

Use draft order for each manager to choose a transfer (if they wish).

Due to price constraints most people might not bother changing.

I hate to be a stickler here, but thats the whole problem isn't it.

Exact same situation as last year.

    You're either in or not.

Hal's idea is good. I've also just PM'd Buffalo Soldier, who said he'd like to join. His last BS post was at 5:39pm today, so maybe he's still around. If he comes and wants to draft for Splarg, he'll take that spot. Sound good?

If he doesn't show, we'll have to figure something else out for round 2 and afterwards.

Should Jon and I just discuss and pick Splarg's next move?

I think we should just go with 9, and drop Owen back into the pool... Basically I don't see him being active for a team he didn't pick... Which if we do draft for him, will basically be a dead team of dead players...

I vote that Team 10 passes, and gets its remaining players later, via expansion draft or otherwise.

Who would be the consensus pick here? There certainly isn't a clear answer, like Owen was for round 1.

By the power I've assumed. Since Brian's 2nd pick last year (Rnd 2, 2nd pick) is still available, I'll give him another de ja vu pick.

I think we are just causing complications for ourselves.

I am willing to let Buffalo Soldier make Brian's picks from here on tonight. And if, and when, Brian starts participating, he can decide to accept the team as drafted so far or he can yield his spot to Buffalo Soldier.
