Just checked by googling, the last time the Ohio River froze was years 76 to 77 and winter of 77 to 78.

 

Because it's not enough simply to rep Jefferson Airplane.

 

I can believe the winter of 77-78. Nasty one. There was a week in January it didn't get above 10 below on my campus--most of January was below zero. Then there was the Blizzard of 78.... We had a 3-4 ft base and then got a foot on Thursday and 2 ft on Friday and they closed school at noon.
