Since we have a thread to discuss the dissapointment, I think a thread to discuss some positive surprises is also necessary.

    Teams:

    Panama, Jamaica

Players: Marco Pappa, Aldo de Nigris, Ignacio Portillo (Honduras's LB today?), Keammar Daley, Cristian Noriega.

    Discuss!

The Salvadorean team played with a lot of heart and determination. They seem to be rebuilding nicely.

Btw, I don't think Honduras's Osman Chávez gets enough credit. With a good performance in this GC and the right contacts, I am sure he could move up from Poland.

Seeing that name just reminded that back in FM06 their was a Salvadoran Right Back named Nehemias Zelaya that usually ended up being a high quality player.

I don't know why I just thought of that. Haven't played FM06 in years.

All a player can do is perform against the teams he plays against. Under that logic we can belittle everyone's performance at this gold cup since its generally not regarded as having the best level of competition. We needed to run up the score on Cuba and the kid came through. He also came through against Costa Rica and almost did it again against Panama. Its not easy to make 2 penalties on a goalkeeper after you missed the first one that rattles some players.
