Danilo at CB might just end up being another Mascherano situation. He doesn't belong at CB. We need to develop other CBs. Neto, Vezo, Oliveira, Semedo.

Ruben Semedo probably is the best hope. he transferred to villarreal, may turn out to be good for him. He played well vs Serbia in U21.

This is the tournament to try Danilo at CB, not during the World Cup or qualifying.

Something needs to be done to shake up the back line.

Playing Danilo at CB in a tournament after Fonte had a bad game is a panic move that Santos will not make. This isn't a 2014 vs. U.S. situation where you're trying to use duct tape to put together a back four. If anything he'd replace Fonte with Neto much like he replaced Carvalho with Fonte last summer.

I'm all for playing around with lineups here, but if Santos was using this tournament as a proving ground for young guys or guys playing in new positions, he wouldn't have started Nani, Quaresma and Moutinho on Sunday.
