I’m not one of the “OMG they’re our rivals! I’m not rooting for them!” people. Not rooting for them in particular but I like to see them do well, and I’ll always root for an underdog against Germany! I saw people were giving a lot of smack about supporting Mexico, and honestly I think it can be different culturally depending where you are in the US. Here in California, there’s a huge chunk of our population who are immigrants from Mexico themselves, or first and second generation Mexican Americans. Mexican culture is a huge contributor to California culture. Your average person growing up in SoCal will likely have a different opinion than the average US fan who grew up in Missouri or Michigan, for those reasons. Just my humble observation!
I'm for the underdog. Mexico vs Germany...i'm pulling for El Tri. Iceland vs Argentina....ima viking. El Tri vs Iceland? I'll surround myself with cervezas and blondes, and hope its a tie, lol.
I am rooting for all Concacaf teams. They do well this WC, and our regions multiplier could go up. Especially since 2006 will be dropped after this cycle.
