Good day everybody! I know it's early, but does MLS have dates from the 2012 play offs? I know the final is on Dec 1, and I know the first round of play offs are "the first week of november", but what are realistically the dates? Is there going to be a 10~14 days gap between the semi and the final like last year? Or are they going to have play offs also during Thanksgiving week? Does anybody know? Any speculation?

My guess would be the first weekend in November which is the 3rd and 4th.

Last game of the season is October 28th, so wildcards will probably be on October 31st (Wednesday). Semifinals on Novemeber 3rd/4th (Sat/Sun) and 10th/11th (Sat/Sun), international break on November 14th (Wed). Conference finals on November 24th/25th (Sat/Sun), with MLS CUP on December 1st (Not sure if that's right, that's my guess).

Conference finals are 2 legs now. I thought there was a schedule announcement but I can't find it anywhere--it looked something like this (give or take a day on the midweek dates):

    Wild card: Oct. 31 (midweek)
Conference semis leg 1: Nov. 3/4 (weekend)
Conference semis leg 2: Nov. 7 (midweek)
Conference finals leg 1: Nov. 10/11 (weekend)
    FIFA friendly date: Nov. 14
Conference finals leg 2: Nov. 17/18 (weekend)
    Thanksgiving: Nov. 22
    MLS Cup: Dec. 1

Avoiding playing Thanksgiving weekend and giving the host venue 2 weeks notice are among the factors here.

Damn, the playoffs run into December now? This MLS Cup hosting thing should be interesting...
