134 - Isco Alarcon is the only Real Madrid player to have attempted more than 100 dribbles in 2017 (all competitions). Honey. pic.twitter.com/NA9bMuHqiw— OptaJose (@OptaJose) October 2, 2017
Isco really does enjoy playing for Spain. If he keeps this up, he'll hopefully win the best player in Russia this summer
🇪🇸 Isco has been directly involved in 7 goals in 7 Group G matches for Spain (5 goals, 2 assists). 👌 pic.twitter.com/ADEX4QRuGP— European Qualifiers (@EuroQualifiers) October 6, 2017
After Cristiano, this will be Isco's team. Real Madrid is blessed to have him, and he is blessed to be with Real Madrid. Dude is just phenomenal and doesn't seem to be slowing down. His extension was my signing of the summer. Look forward to this bandy legged beauty slaying the opposition in style on the pitch.
I would love that. It's possibly Messi's final chance to make it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave it to him anyways like they did last world cup. Fifa used to be on Messi's nuts, hopefully it has changed since Sepp Blatter is gone.
WTF Six Israelis were detained after Spain’s match for invading the pitch; one of them approached Isco with a knife. [@elchiringuitotv] pic.twitter.com/7yjFApnqyc— Real Madrid Info ³⁶ (@RMadridInfo) October 10, 2017 https://as.com/futbol/2017/10/10/seleccion/1507624153_975297.html?autoplay=1
How is this Ronaldo's team now? In which way is Ronaldo central to the way we play? Is he a particularly creative player, essential to our ability to build play, make space, and create chances at goal? With his 0.2 assists per game (10th ranked in the squad), 1.1 key passes per game (11th), and 0.9 succesful dribbles per game (12th), common sense dictates that no, he's not really contributing much to our play at all. Or perhaps you meant that while not directly influencing chance-creation, he's merely involved in it a lot, the invisible hand that cleverly directs our play with smart passes here and there? Well, no, because he only makes 22 accurate passes per game, which ranks him 21st in our squad, so even his indirect influence is ignorable. The only thing Ronaldo brings to our play is goals, as we can expect about 1 goal per game from him (which he needs, on average, 6 shots to score). That's fantastic, but that doesn't make this "his team". Modric, Kroos, Isco, Marcelo .... this is their team. They are our brain and heart. They control the play. They create chances. Ronaldo is nothing but a tool they use to convert those chances into goals. To say that this is Ronaldo's team is a massive insult to these guys.
