Wait, so the club pays both agent and player? I thought their cut came out of the transfer fees. Yeah im woefully uninformed on this topic too opaque
I always thought it was smart for guys like Roy Keane to just hire a lawyer to represent them in negotiations and pay them an hourly rate.
because the usa aren't as good as american's wished they were? ............puts tin hat on and gets into the trenches
Agreed! At least if you are a established player, why on earth would you give up millions for a job any top flight commercial lawyer can do at 500 p/h?
That explains it. He's like the Scott Boras of European football. Great for his clients, terrible for the teams.
Austria... really aren't bad at all. They're a well coached and organised team, while Alaba at just 21 was a beast for them against Ireland at least in the AM spot (amazing as he plays FB for Bayern), at home they gave Germany huge trouble and beat Sweden. They were an 86th minute Ibrahimovic goal away from finishing above Sweden in our group also.
disagree You have to consider how the sports landscape was before agents. Players got taken advantage of.
How the fck can Arsenal lose to Villa by 2 goals? C'mon, it's a random game, you know that. That's what makes it so good.
http://www.independent.ie/sport/michael-kennedy-the-secret-agent-behind-roy-keane-26262041.html he is an agent, lawyer...and an arsenal season ticket holder.
He acts as an agent, but doesn't need to be licensed as one because he is a lawyer, and charges on an hourly, not a percentage basis. http://www.theguardian.com/media/2002/jun/10/mondaymediasection.law
I wanted to share this with you guys. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/football-life-forward-pass-american-015701000.html Talking about the forward pass in football and how important it is. Then at the 3:52 mark Boomer Esiason said this... "Other countries don't do this. They play rugby they flip it back, they play soccer they kick it around. We Americans we're all about freedom and liberty." Funny.
