I would argue that, even more importantly, sp*rs and Liverpool both won and we need to keep pace with them. Bad run of form but we hopefully can refocus on top 4 with some confidence boosting goals at home against the bottom side.

No doubt... it's gonna be a hell of a race. 2-5 are separated by 6 points and we have a game in hand. We can't afford to slip up anymore.

Where would United be without De Gea?

It’s interesting how disjointed United look when Alexis plays. His individual performances haven’t been bad for them, but the team doesn’t seem to know how to play with him every time he’s out there. Thought he’d be able to slot in better

The same can be said about a few of their players. Not a very flowing team

They can thank Mou for that. He's not a flowing type of coach. He likes to play through 1 focal point.

Funny how predictable United's "predicament" is. Knew it would happen to us (not the meltdown necessarily) when he came back and it was easy to see the same would go down at ManPoo.

No doubt... I knew he'd get them back from the obscurity they've been in since Sir Alex left but he will never take them to the top levels. They shouldn't have renewed him. I'd have moved on after his contract and looked for a proactive coach. With the money they've spent they should be much much better.

I don't know if I agree. Yes, the league is lost, but they will most likely move on in the CL, they are in the FA Cup, and 2nd in the league. They won few non-major trophies last year, so not like it's all bad.

Looking at their net spend, it is pretty bad imo. We would be the laughing stock of the league if we bought the players they bought and didn't cruise to a title.

First off I said he'd get them back from obscurity and he has but everything you've said screams not Top Level.

Their in second by a point. They won't finish there. They should have lost yesterday and while they got out of their group they had an easy group. Put them somewhere else and they would have been exposed. At this point in the FA they haven't played anyone. They got knocked out of the Caberro cup by nobody's. Yes they got the EL title but that's the only thing of note. When you look at what they've spent that simply isn't good enough.

City cakewalk to the League Cup. Didn't realize they have to travel to Arsenal on Thursday - hope that gives us an edge next weekend

It does give us an edge.

The problem is that the object is a rhombicosidodecahedron (which, fwiw, has 120 edges).

    So you're saying we're gonna win 120 - nil?

Will be interesting to see how it affects the English clubs' performances in the CL. Was hoping this would be in January so squads could get a game or two in before the round of 16 begins. Better than nothing though, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some clubs head to the US or the Middle East for friendlies during the break

Seems Griezmann might be moving to Barca. Griezmann-Suarez-Messi with Dembele and Countinho to come off the bench.

....while we have Pedro and Giroud......

Cold and snowy for Arsenal and City today. Sounds like the game will go ahead but apparently Arsenal are "continuing to assess the situation and speaking with police." Hope it means the City players are that much more tired for the game this weekend
