I thought it was a pretty stupid campaign.

Nope. Mexico has plenty of neutral field victories in the United States. I'll even do your research for you since you seem unwilling.

    Mexico (away matches)

    June 6, 2009, El Salvador, L
    April 1, 2009, Honduras, L
    February 11, 2009, United States, L
    November 19, 2008, Honduras, L
    October 15, 2008, Canada, T
    October 11, 2008, Jamaica, L
    June 15, 2008, Belize, W (Houston, Texas)
    February 6, 2008, United States, T
    June 24, 2007, United States, L
    February 07, 2007, United States, L

I can't find results before 2007 until the 2005 hex. If their is a result that changes this outcome, then it should be mentioned.

    October 12, 2005, Trinidad & Tobago, L
    September 3, 2005, United States, L
    June 4, 2005, Guatemala, W

So the last time Mexico has won a match as the away team in this region is 2005. Of course, the Belize rescheduling shouldn't be held against Mexico, so June 2008 is the answer.

The Mexican Fed really needs to stop scheduling matches in the United States. Some away friendlies would be useful, or at least neutral field matches like the Ghana-Mexico match in London in March 2008.
