I mean, then American fans could claim they beat Spain or Egypt in an away game last month, which would be completely absurd. If somebody defeats the host nation, whether it be the US in the Gold Cup, South Africa in the CC, Venezuela in the Copa America or Germany in 2006, then those should be counted as away victories. So Mexico's last neutral field victory was yesterday. And Mexico's last away victory then was in the 2006 qualifiers then?
