Besler is better than Ream on any given day, and I don't like Besler.

 

Cam has to have a knock, yes? That is a tad worrisome. I'd have expected Matt Besler. Thought we'd see DMB, zero issue with Villafana, however. Thought we'd see Clint sit & Pulisic at the #10. That will happen later, most likely. If Clint is good to go, then no issue there. Hopefully we get the lead early and can go 4-2-3-1 if/when Dempsey runs out of gas.

 

Frankly, this lineup isn't very good. ********ing injuries man.

And what does Gonzo have to screw up in order to not be an auto-starter for Da Bruce?

Well its obviously easier in hindsight but might have been a mistake to not have called in Chandler even for just the one game tonight. About as weak a back four as we ever want to trot out there.

 

Honestly Chandler in away Central American qualifiers hasn't instilled much confidence so can't agree with you there.

Perplexed at the dismay with the XI. Cam/Zusi switch is really the only real surprise. That was due to injury. Ream is a tad surprising. There isn't a huge difference with he & Besler. Jones was a sure thing. Clint close to it if fit.

We'll still take this one, 3-1.

 

Why the hell are we starting Ream and Gonzo? Besler is so much better than Ream and I'm not a huge Besler fan.

Neither of those two are the best player at the position they are playing. I'd take FJ over Villafana and Cameron over Gonzo any day.

 

Given the injuries, there wasn't much we could in defense. I would also have preferred Besler to Ream, but we had no other options at RB

 

They aren't first choice starters

 

Two weeks ago, I think it would have been easier to predict the NCAA final four than to predict this defensive foursome.

Jesus our Euro based guys are dropping like flies. Wood, Yedlin, Brooks, Fab, Cam...that is probably half the field starters

 

Today they are. Those other guys are not healthy. And we knew it going in, save for Cameron.

The problem is, of course, that we're going to get reamed for playing Ream... (for both the pun and the fact that Ream is starting)...

Villafana is. For sure. Gonzo is one of the two starters healthy. I think Besler should've taken Ream's spot.
