Just avoid weekly viewing of the Philadelphia Union and you should be alright. Those can be dire...and yet I watch anyway. As for Palace, every match with them is a grudge match since the "The Slip" that resulted in a 3-3 draw. At least Dwight Gayle is gone.
The "slip" was the Chelski game but this game often comes up because we blew a 3-0 lead. Even if we would've won, we still would've been short of City on GD. Anyway, ancient history.
I don't see it ever being "great." I just watch it for what it is. The quality has improved exponentially in the last 23 years. Having a local team helps.
That' right. I'd conflated the two mmories of football induced angst in my mind. Ancient history that still rankles.
I was into DCU big time when Olsen was playing. I played with him in high school and he was my younger brother's best mate, so we always had a crew to go down to get crazy in Lot 8 before the games. It was always a good time. I'm 2 hours away, and DCU hasn't been great for a while, so I fell out of following it. So yeah, I can see having a local team would engender more interest. I don't know if its just that I don't watch much sport in the afternoons/evenings, but it has a tough time keeping my interest. I don't think having playoffs helps. Its just like NFL, MLB or College basketball, I pay no attention to the season at all, check in at playoff time to see if there is someone I feel like I want to get behind and that is the limit of my commitment. When there isn't much on the line in a regular season, there is no urgency to tune into the game. But I digress. I wouldn't mind seeing the trifecta of Pards, Hodgey and Moyes going done, so I hope we win.
It is - but I absolutely can't stand when 1) moron supporters from other teams and 2) pundits - act like it was the CP game that lost us the title when it clearly wasn't.
If you still live near Harrisburg (I think your profile used to say that) - my daughters coach still plays for the Harrisburg Heat indoor team. Marcos Chantel - now 43(!) and still hanging with the youngsters - though I think he is calling it quits after this season.
Yeah, more Hershey than Harrisburg, but I do see Heat billboards around and I can't believe they are still a thing.
Yeah, their logic (and facts) make no sense. We wouldn't have been going 100% at them offensively with a 3-0 lead if GD wasn't what was holding us back.
Well I’m looking forward to seeing this at normal US time... even if it’s at 7:30 am. I’ve been in China for the last couple of weeks and while the ManU game was ostensibly at a fine time (6:30pm start) I ended up falling asleep during the second half... the second of our Porto games I vaguely remember... I don’t know how our Australian/Far East compatriots do it.
Heat - Herpes - Haemmorids.... anything but Hershey's ... God - if that isn't the WORST pseudo-chocolate ever ... the kisses anyway - they sound like fvcking chalk when you bite on them...
I actually don't really dislike David Moyes (he wasn't at Manure long enough for me to form an anti-bond). But Pardew is a prick. And Hodgson is a fvcking joke.... so, yeah, those two would be good to watch sink.....
Its funny, but most people around here don't really think chocolate when they think of Hershey. Its mostly Hersheypark, the hospital, or the self-entitled little pricks who live there.
in absolute terms, Hershey is in Amish Country, but the greater percentage of Old Order Amish live s/o Hershey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania_Dutch_Country
Amish are all over, but if Lancaster is true Amish Country its is about 15 or 20 miles until you start getting into it. Don't get me started on them.
Not quite. Its in Dauphin County and the Amish don't venture across the Lancaster and Lebanon County borders, at least into southern Dauphin. Some have spread further north.
