Intelligent run by Caldwell, great job shooting at the professional side of the goal and you see the result. The Revs look like they're gelling..

Teal is not very good 1v1 taking on defenders. He may beat his man 1 out of 10

Hmmmm let me quote me. Im beginning to hate JoGo. We cannot score enough goals to overcome his mistakes.

I think I'd pull him on general principles

I'm not sure this game needed Rowe, but I guess we'll find out

Defenders just stood there while Rowe ran by and tapped it in

No one tracks Rowe and he ties it up. 2 2

He is ALWAYS the beneficiary of pathetic, amateur defending,

Farrell got owned on that goal, totally muscled off the ball by Cocic. This game doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence in our central defenders.

I went back to look and I think he's on. I tried to use the cut of the grass to gauge where level was, because the camera angle isn't level (I put a line on the touch line on a straight, 180 degree line for reference).

It wasn't an outrageously bad call and its not the reason they lost the game.

I think he should shoot there and force a rebound. Johnson's parry created the first goal for Lee. Rowe had runners. If it's a bad angle, then he needs to not lace a pass no one can get to.
Game intelligence - Rowe doesn't have it.

The pass should have been a tap in and was the right play. Rowe just bungled it by hitting it to hard

Revs jobbed again by a dive in the box. I wish to god the league would do something about this, if not during the game, then afterwards, and with a fairly heavy hand. What's the use of technology if we refuse to use it?

Well there you have it. The low to mid-table Revs tied one of the few teams which are clearly worse than they are. The bright points:
    • Knighton solid again.
    • The back line having lapses of communication, and passing poorly out of the back, but generally holding.
    • Scotty was immense. He seems to grow every game. He and Kobayashi work well together. Nguyen also looks more like himself game by game. He would benefit so much from having better players around him.
    • Rowe was everything needed of a late game sub. He played both sides of the ball, made an intelligent run and finished well to tie the game, and made the right play at the end which a (gassed) Davies couldn't reach. I can well imagine the comments that would have followed if he had shot, and the ball had been saved or cleared.

    The iffy parts:
    • DF was solid, but only affected the game at moments. He was much better the previous game. He still deserves to start.
    • Agudelo is lost. He needs psychotherapy, or something.
    • Bunbury had one of his worst games as a Rev. I'm sure it's one-off, but for me, he could have sat out the second half.
    • I'm with the people who are done with JoGo. He is athletic, and can take care of himself, but doesn't run the back line (Language skills? Who knows?), and doesn't pass well. If we are going to have a well-paid, peak-career player captain the back, it needs to be somebody better than JoGo. In his defense, I will say that that PK was a poor call from the telespectator POV.

The Fire, with the exception of Maloney, are a model of how not to build a team. I give them credit for trying much harder than Revolution, though.
