Well, since you let the cat out the bag yes, we were also talking here about how well that bodes for us. So imagine if on top of weeks off now the goats have to contend with Galaxy in their way and hurt and missing players because even if Kate plays he won't be 100%. That bye for top conference teams may turn out to be, the death of them. Among the many hopes I have for tomorrow is that like Toronto we take care of business in regulation and avoid the 120 minute run.
2-2 after '90, then both both teams score in extra time to make it 3-3. Penalties have to go beyond five rounds, right?
I don't want to lose to LAFC either and give them the bragging rights: yeah, we lost the other games, but when it was really on the line, we knocked you outta the playoffs. But that's the nature of it. Most of us can remember some really satisfying moments of knocking SJ out, as well as some of the most galling losses in our history. (that 4-5 two leg loss STILL hurts...) That's what rivalries are made of. If it's one side forever kicking the other's butt, (re: chivas) then it isn't much of a rivalry. This game is gonna sting for one side or the other. I hope it's them, but this is what rivalries are made of.
As I pointed out on Twitter, this is the biggest game in LAFC history. It doesn't even crack the top-10 for us. But I still demand we win so I can talk smack to my hipster LAFC co-workers and friends tomorrow... GO GALAXY!!
Please no. As an Englishman by birth, there are few things in sports I find more nerve-wracking or for the losing team, more cruel.
You know, I think I could find a way to cope, if we can continue to own the win column in this matchup even if it isn't much of a rivalry.
I saw that ridiculous headline as well. I suppose it was catchier than... "Hyperbole Increases Playoff Matchup Discussion" OR "The game to decides who's going to try to avoid getting rudely knocked out by Seattle" OR "We're-Not-Chivas! goes for first playoff win"
Just because it bugs me.... Seattle fans are so pretentious they are rooting for us. I saw Seattle v RSL. They aren't going to rudely knock anybody out.
GAMEDAY. I'll be there, deep in the heart of enemy territory! Approbation to the Holy Trinity: Cien, Cobi, Landon. Today we triumph!
4:0 Galaxy. Zlatan scores fast one, another to close out 1st half, Allessandrini adds up 3rd two minutes after he subbed in at 60th minute, Zlatan buries 45-yarder in the dying minutes. That's how it shoulda be tonight.
To sort of reiterate what’s been said earlier, It's not so much that I want to win the game, it’s that I want LAFC to lose and I don’t want to see Seattle in the final either.
