Well, we're finally into the week of the season opener.

Promises were made by the FO, but it doesn't seem like they came due with them (not all that surprising).

If nothing else, I'll get to enjoy a 24-hour tailgate starting Friday afternoon in Dallas.

Going to take a stab at the line up but at this point I don't even thing Brad knows. I doubt I am too far off. Zahibo may get the nod over Scotty. Teal or Juan may get the start over JFC due to his lack of fitness and Keeper spot is a toss up at this point

Don't think Farrell is due back any time soon - he's got an eye injury.

Thats pretty close to the best on paper team to the Revs can put out there. I'm sure different people will have certain preferences here and there, but overall thats the squad.

I hope Brad realizes its strengths and weaknesses well enough to set up winning tactics for them. Lately it seems like all he does is hang his CB out to dry

I miss the games and am looking forward to the season starting but I'm not liking the fact that I'm not excited by what they did in the offseason and how they looked in the preseason.

I would not be surprised that at some point this season he passes by Juan and Teal as the first option off the bench

The fact that people are talking about Juan as an off-the-bench option with Bunbury and a rookie makes me wonder about the wisdom of re-signing him for big money. I'd rather take our chances on spending that money on a new guy, regardless of whatever question marks he may come with.

Any idea what he signed for? I'd be willing to bet it was less than the 602k he was making

I think Freidel loves Bunbury and I would not be surprised to see him start somewhere, even if C2 is also starting. That means Fagundez to the bench for now.

I did not know about Farrell, thanks for posting.

Well, Bunbury was the team's leading scorer last year I believe. Just sayin' ... that's not nothing.

Friedel said that it was questionable whether Farrell would be ready for the opener. I hope he doesn't just throw him back in, after Bye has been getting all the recent work.

I dont think Agudelo is worth half that. I'm extremely surprised he got a raise and they gave him a multiyear deal. Burns strikes again!

I don't see Burns doing that if Friedel didn't want him to.

They must still be tantalized by that 'unrealized potential'.

As time goes by, I feel like I see less and less potential in him.

Feels like most of his potential has been expended as kinetic at this point.

Perhaps some larger force has over time impeded his momentum, and therefore consumed a disproportionate amount of kinetic. Result: less dynamic displays of energy in motion than in the past..

By this point in their careers, Bunbury and Aguedelo should have been pegged as roster cover. Potentially good/great guys to have on the roster but there would NEVER, barring (preferably several major) injuries, be any discussion of them sniffing around a starting spot. Oh, and there'd only be one roster spot open for that type of guy...

But on the REVs... they're right in the mix.

Or we do increasingly realize his potential....as not being that much.

So... at a most basic, visceral level... I for one am glad simply to soon put aside for a spell the banter and instead, finally, have a game that counts to watch.

No matter how well, or poorly, I think the Revs ownership, FO, coach, and team are constructed, I'm happy to be back in anticipation mode.

In the right situation, Bunbury can (and has) scored a lot of goals. That said, I don't want his defensive deficiencies, but he's a good threat when you have effective play-making on the field.

Bunbury: I think he has been a relatively high goal scorer on THIS team. I don’t think he has been the prolific type scorer/threat we need nor that a top/ambitious team would want to tag as THE STARTER.

That said, feel free to argue he’d be super prolific on a different team (the only place I think he’d find the RIGHT situation).
