Kitchen has a bad habit of making unnecessary fouls late in games. He's done it in a few games already.
I liked how the guys played hard. I also liked how Sigi found a formation that works best with the players he had available. But I hope a bunch of those missing players will be available next week....
Sigi did a good job with his prep of the team. Good formation given the constraints. Would have brought Husidic on earlier but that is a nitpick.
That was both very good and very bad. Lots of terrible passes, lazy possession and dreadful composure in front of goal - so just like last season. But a realistic game plan by the coach and a team who showed they understood the plan and worked together to execute it. Can we get AJ back though? Right-back seems cursed.
As far as entertainment and quality of play you are correct. Wouldn't want to watch it as a neutral. But a good result when we are on the road missing half our starters.
With one exception. PS: Never mind - you said a bunch of the missing players, not all of the missing players. Couldn't agree more.
Good performance, good result. To think, a lot of folks were writing this game off completely. On Twitter, people were saying things like just play 15 y/o Alvarez. Vancouver isn't Toronto or even, like, Portland. They're one dimensional and lack a truly special player, IMO. Still, the team had to step up big to grind this one out and I feel everyone did. The bad: -A lot of sloppiness: bad giveaways in dangerous areas, poor finishing, errors that might've been punished by a better team -Feltscher's dumb yellow The good: -Earning a tie under very tough circumstances -The squad showed good teamwork, commitment and willingness to support each other. When that pays off with a good result, it brings teams together. Haven't seen that with this team in some time. -Shrewd gameplan pays off for Sigi, which will earn the squad's trust and willingness to fight for him All in all, the squad showed the ability to show-up in the midst of adversity (injuries, call-ups, BS suspension). Definitely something build on heading into the next match.
They played good enough to get a tie. Didn't give up too many real chances. Defense was pretty solid especially Skjelvik. Lleget, Carassco, and Bingham we're also very strong. Kitchen, Ema, and Feltcher (offensively ) did well. Romney and Arce, and Feltcher (passing) had some moments they need to work on. Subs did well. But considering we are missing 9 players that are mostly starters, this was the result I was hoping for. Good road point.
Sigi and his staff deserve a lot of credit. Great performances from our players as well. Overall, a scoreless draw that feels like a win.
