@ Time: Friday Aug. 28th @ 8pm Venue: Avaya Stadium TV: Unimas ...thats it? Friday forecast for Slum Jose is a high of 87 dropping to 73 around kickoff with 66% humidity. Big game as pretty much all the remaining games will be. The smurfs are coming off of 3 wins in a row, the last two against SKC and DCU. They have 2 games in hand on us and trail us by 11 pts. They are sitting just outside the playoff picture and will be fighting for their playoff lives. Lets beat the living playoff out of them!
Keep up the damage! I probably won't be able to watch, we are being kicked out to sea tomorrow, most likely because of the storm.
3 Game win streak huh. I think we are obligated to break that cycle. DEATH TO THE SMURFS!!! ALL HAIL THE GALAXY!!
It’s been a while since these two teams faced each other in a good run of form. San Jose looked great back on July 17th for the first 15-20 minutes and LA is still starting way too slowly for my liking. A better team than NYC FC could have punished our slow start on Sunday, San Jose is a better team and they did punish us as recently as July 17. It’ll be much harder to mount a comeback in Avaya.
For a good time, check out the smurf pregame thread, it is up to six pages. For people that hate us, they sure like to talk about us!!
Here is something for the locker room bulletin board in case the lads need extra motivation: Chris Reiko @ChrisReiko "We always want to beat #LAGalaxy, because they are league "Primadonnas" just said Chris Wondolowski on KNBR680 #mls #SJEarthquakes #SJvLA
I believe the prima donna is the best singer in an opera company. So in that case, yes, we are the best in MLS, so the comparison is appropriate -- thanks for noting Chris...
I hate San Jose, but I also hate the Sounders, so if San Jose some how does beat us, they'd be level with the Sounders on points...
We should stomp a mud hole in their candy arses, 3 points for us a sell out crowd of Silicon valley pissants for them. Win win situation, besides they are only going because they want to drool over Gerrard and Gio! They wish their FO had the balls to get the players we have!
So pumped to be flying in for this one. I've heard a lot of really positive things about Avaya, looking forward to soaking it all in. We need another W to being pulling away from the pack. For anyone who's never traveled to see our Galaxy away, it's such an amazing experience. I highly recommend it. Southwest and Alaska offer really good deals if purchased early enough.
They’re actually level on points now with 35 a piece, but San Jose has a game in hand, San Jose also has the easier schedule (http://m.mlssoccer.com/news/article...s-playoff-races-heading-heineken-rivalry-week). SJE: vLAG vPHI vSEA vMTL @NYC vRSL vVAN vSKC @DAL SEA: vPOR vTOR @SJE @VAN @SKC vLAG @HOU vRSL That run for Seattle starting with San Jose away and ending with LA home is going to be brutal because there’s also a CCL game in the middle. 9/12 @ San Jose 9/19 @vancouver 9/23 Vancouver (CCL) 9/27 @SKC 10/4 LA I think Seattle need 6 points from their next two home games to avoid a really nervous finish. If they’re level or behind San Jose on the 12th and lose they’re likely going to need help from San Jose’s opponents.
Please give us a full report on the game and the experience. San Jose is really easy to reach by plane, and the stadium is right there. I went to a conference at a nearby hotel in January and really want to visit that stadium! Good for you.
I am going to this one! Great seats as part of a birthday gift from my family. Will be in my gear and yelling like usual. Can't wait.
Maybe losing weight but, Duni and maybe it was Vagenas on the TWCSN pre/half/post shows a couple weeks ago mentioned he changed the hairdo and looks different.
Whatever. At least the Galaxy doesn't overhype every insignificant milestone likes the Quakes do with Wondolousy's 100th goal or last solid bowel movement.
Attending this match. This will be my first away MLS match. My only other away Galaxy game was in Tijuana. I'm interested in walking around the stadium and checking it out. I got an email recommending that I should park in the employee parking lot (that will be open to visiting Galaxy supporters), to separate us from their support group, the ultras. They must be a nightmare for their FO to deal with.
I wondered if a game thread was ever going to show up. I was starting to think that maybe we wouldn't have one, you know, because the Smurfs aren't really Game Thread Worthy. Predict a 3-1 road win. Tight, tense game but with the G's experience and teamwork eventually sapping the belief out of the Smurfs in the second half. An Alan Gordon flubbed header will somehow still go in at the 90th minute and the return of the prodigal son will be complete. Make it so.
Today I learned Brian Rowe ties the all-time shut out record at UCLA. Considering the talent that's come out of there (Rimando, Hartman, Reis, Freidel) that's not too shabby.
