TV: Spectrum SportsNet, SpectrumDeportes Well, I'll miss this one for a frickin Saturday wedding up north but, I've hedged my disappointment by getting tickets to the Raiders home opener on Sunday so, I'm hoping two victories, along with a couple Dodger wins, will brighten my weekend. I'll attempt to find a quiet corner at the wedding reception to catch the game on my phone. Hopefully the boys can continue to improve and we can set a trap game for arguably the best team in the league at the moment and keep our paltry playoff hopes alive. Lets go Gs!!!
Speaking of the Dodgers, sheesh and ugh...Anyway, does anyone know if the team has or will appeal Romain's yellow?
Wonder if Ciani will make the bench for this one. He said he would need about two weeks to get up to speed. For the Seattle game, Arellano was our lone defensive sub (unless you count Garcia), which would be a little scary against Toronto.
Unless the rules have changed, you can't appeal a yellow card even if it leads to suspension. A few years ago Sarvas got a yellow on a blatant dive by Ned Grabavoy and was suspended for the next match.
I guess if we can't have Jones and Alessandrini, it's only sporting of them to not bring Giovinco and Altidore
Marky Delgado may also sit as he took a knock last game vs SJ. Vanney is quoted as saying there may be some squad rotation due to midweek derby vs Mtl on 20th and vs NE on 23rd. If Vanney sticks with 2 striker formation, likely speedy Ricketts will partner youngster Hamilton (kinda plays like Jozy with less ability to do hold up role). But TFC has good depth.
Bummer to miss out on having their star forwards here - plus Alessandrini out - makes for less interest for the fans.
Both of them took small knocks last weekend, and Giovinco was even subbed out at the half as a precaution. Vanney said this move was a "risk/reward" calculation. Looking forward to seeing our depth get some minutes against you guys.
I am off to europe today and kick off for this game is at like 3:30am so I think I have to skip this one
To every Galaxy player sans-Gio: Play like you did last week To Gio: Don’t play like you did last week That’s all. Don’t really care about the result.
Will this season finally put to rest all of the "MLS favors the Galaxy in, like everything" conspiracy theories?
Given the yellow-card suspensions, I am curious what type of line-up Sigi will use. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Garcia at DMid with JDS at the 8 position like last week. Nor would I be surprised to see Gyasi at right mid with either McBean, Lassiter or JackMac at the 9.
It was stated in the latest Corner of the Galaxy podcast that, as I suggested toward the beginning of the year, Gyasi has been practicing at RB recently...
