Anyone see the Klein pregame interview on FS1? Not inspiring. Thinks we have the "right DP pieces" and we're just "unlucky" due to injuries. I'd like someone to ask him just what the hell the plan was on defense this year. No idea what he could say to that which wouldn't make him and Pete look like idiots. Empty suit. Dead man walking. Pick your cliche.
We all saw it coming a mile away, but this is the year the Galaxy could not afford to slack off, especially as badly as they did. This takes away momentum from the fanbase and transfers it over to the new team in town. AEG shares blame if they decided this was the year to cost cut. We may be looking at a multi-year drought. Where have you gone, Landon Donovan? (Robbie Keane, etc, etc.) If we lose Klein, maybe our marketing department will finally step up and act adult. I don't wish Chris Klein ill, but this organization is faltering badly.
I thought it would be bad, but honestly not this bad, especially when viewed in the context of just how poor the western conference is this year. Any other season and this team would have been out months ago.
We couldn't be so lucky. It's probably about that center fullback that nobody in Europe wanted that we are going to overpay for.
Wanted to watch live, but ended up needing to help my sister. Got my dinner, sat down. Ugh. What everyone else said. Can't wait for the news on Tuesday, wonder what that's about!?!?!? More excited about that than anything else. Also: Nate Smith is a disaster, and continues to be a disaster. Even if it was a soft red.
Rob StoneVerified account @RobStoneONFOX 5h5 hours ago At this point, if you're the @LAGalaxy just bring on the locusts and plague. Get it all out of your system in 2017. Rob StoneVerified account @RobStoneONFOX 4h4 hours ago Expect some significant @LAGalaxy news around Tuesday
Baxter is reporting that the news has to do with the coaching staff. Guess Sigi is putting his coaching staff together. No firings. Unfortunately.
I'm now worried the the JDS signing cements Gio in place. This team is crap. Why did we ship out JVD? Who looked at our defence and thought we could afford a downgrade?
Perspective (and other kneejerks): -AJ's curse haunts the RB position. At 0-0, we lost our starting RB and had to play our 3rd choice RB from the 26th minute. -Our 3rd choice RB earned a red card in 57th minute, when the score was still 1-0 (perhaps assailable). -We're not playing with a 6? We keep getting caught in transition, having to make hasty bad tackles. Not good under the best scenario; very tough when at 10 men -BJIV and Ema Boateng are not first choice starters in midfield or good chance creators by MLS standards (IMO). We're not creating quality chances or really able to string together meaningful possession. Tough under the best scenario; very tough when at 10 men -Hey, welcome back @Ghosting! Missed you man! -When the formation shifted after going to 10 and Gio went up top and Zardes out wide, cutting in -- I felt both played much better. I suggested going this route -- just with 11 men. Otherwise, Gio isn't 10 enough to 10 and Zardes isn't 9 enough to 9, so keep expecting 0 if you line em up that way as we did at the start (see what I did there?)
Blanked at home for the 4th straight time! Will they score another goal at home this season, let alone win? Surely they'll defeat the Rapids who are winless on the road, right?
Highlight Time Folks I have resigned myself to the idea that I will not be excited about this team until the offseason. In the meantime, I will watch us suffer losses until the end of the scheduled regular season like a good soldier; all the while looking to see if we actually score a goal before the last game of the year. THE GALAXY SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!
I clicked on the Sigi video and it said "An error occurred. Please try again later" That's our season in a nutshell.
I've seen nothing from Smith this season. Zero. Pfft...less than zero He reminds me of the dudes at my college who always show up late for class.
Our Special Olympic team went undefeated for the season. I actually might attend one of the remaining games if Sigi ran those guys & girls out in place of the first team. The scoreline would be worse, but there’d be more effort & joy from the players based on what I’ve seen from their games.
I stayed for the first 15 minutes of their match last night. They seem to have a plan, unlike the MLS team at Stub hub.
If I recall correctly, his first couple starts were promising in terms of defending and providing an attacking option moving forward. However, I think it was the match against VAN where he was exposed and it's been downhill since.
No wonder the rest of the team sporadically wandered into the RB area during games. One tackle, interception or completed pass and you look like a Greek god by comparison.
