We are working in the case of SJ and DC with basically eliminated teams from playoffs. This is what is so disconcerting with our last tie. Now Colorado has just won their match against Whitecaps leaving Vancouver and RSL at 23 points which means IF we win this match against DC we will end up up in 5th place. As it should be.... Please do not screw it up.

That battle for the last playoff spot is going to be slugfest between us, Houston, Vancouver and RSL. Maybe the Timbers if they choke. We might get everyone back just at the right time.

I wonder if we will see Rooney at all in this one?

He seemed decently fit from the signing photos, so I guess he has been taking care of himself this off-season.

I don't think so since the summer transfer window opens on 7/10.

Until Rooney gets in there who cares we should win or tie, I'm hoping for the first outcome.

I wish I knew what the deal was with Ola Kamara and Ema Boateng. Both seemed to be in full training last week but then didn't make the trip. Does that mean set back? Does that mean caution with the away game so they are available for the back to back must win home games? I wish there was better communication/reporting on this stuff.

I assume Lleget will be out for sometime as high ankle sprains are not very easy to return from.

Rolf appears to be in training pics a lot but then his injury is one where he can do a lot of fitness stuff. I remember they mentioned he'd be about ready around the time of the transfer window opening. Well, that's soon. I wonder how far away he is.

I didn't really notice S.Williams on the pitch after he came on at the end on Saturday. Did he look ok?

Yeah Rooney can’t play until 7/10.

I don’t know about Boateng, but Sigi made it sound like oLA could have played if necessary yesterday, but with all these games coming up, decided to err on the side of caution and give him a little extra time.

We NEED to win. Interestingly, this game marks the mid-point of the season and after this we face a tough home match vs. Columbus and then a 3-game away run. Need to start stacking wins to keep our playoff hopes alive.

This feels like a must-win game if we want to participate in the post season....

In better times this would feel like a trap game. As it stands if we can’t beat the worst team in the league at home in July 4th making the playoffs would be a token appearance anyway.

I would love to see Alvarez on the bench for offensive help

This will be only the 2nd I’ve missed since the StubHub (aka Home Depot) Center opened.

I hop everyone has fun and I hope we win....

Let's not get carried away. I just want to see a solid defensive effort and not lose at home.

    Starting XI
David Bingham, Dave Romney, Tomas Hilliard-Arce, Michael Ciani, Jorgen Skjelvik, Ashley Cole ©, Perry Kitchen, Chris Pontius, Bradford Jamieson IV, Romain Alessandrini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

    Bench
Justin Vom Steeg, Daniel Steres, Sheanon Williams, Joao Pedro, Baggio Husidic, Ariel Lassiter, Ola Kamara.

These teams we are trotting our are terrible. We have 5 defenders out there. Either Romney and Cole are wing backs or maybe Cole is in midfield and Romney is right back.

Pontius playing center mid with kitchen? Jamison again? RA playing forward?

Team doesn’t make since to me.

At least kamara is on bench. No sign of boateng. Why not put Alvarez on the bench?
