Per the radio broadcast: Sjoberg - left hammy Powers - right groin Saied - Only a bone bruise, should be available this weekend
2-1 Dallas as Williams gets worked, Miller is (again) in no man's land, leading to a wide pen back post. Should be 3-1, no idea how FCD didn't score there
I have only been watching the last 15 minutes, so maybe getting a bad view. The view right now is one where the Rapids have clearly given up for a loss. Absolutely no hustle or fight. The ball skips around and everyone is standing. Is it super hot or something? We haven't been a good team, but rarely did you see the team stop hustling..... rod.
We lost Serna to a blown ACL in Dallas in the 5th round last year and lose. This year we lose Sjoberg, Powers, and Gashi to injuries in Dallas in the 5th Round and lose. If we draw Dallas again next year we should just forfeit and save our players.
This game was a microcosm of almost everything that's wrong with this team. 1. No depth as we're only using 25 of our 30 roster spots, so tired players have to play and players have to be played out of position. 2. Players being coached into the wrong position. We're using Eric Miller at CB and Williams at LB. Williams plays CB for T&T and Miller has played wing pretty much his whole career. The last two games goals have been scored with the ball going past Miller on the assist who's guarding space and not a man. 3. Powers as a #10 failed, again 4. The only thing we have to play for, realistically, this season is the USOC, so we run out Castillo, Hamilton, and Perez. Why? 5. Everyone but MacMath quit at the end. Its honestly hard to blame them though given the state of things. This team needs blowing up, from top to bottom, again. And yet I'm sure they'll raise our ticket prices for us to watch them do it.
JasonMa, aptly summarized. Even the Rapids' sales staff seems defeated. The few interactions I've had with them this season have been muted. Passionless. The only thing this organization has been good at this year is whittling down the respect and support of the long devoted fans. Two years ago I nearly walked away from the team as a ticket holder. Now, I'm nearly ready to walk away entirely.
Well stated and where I find myself as well, this is what happens when an organization decides to 'race' to mediocrity and succeeds in that endeavor.
I'm too lazy to change teams. Perhaps it's people like me who encourage ownership not to make drastic changes. I just watch in mild bemusement hoping that things can only get better.
I will always support my team, although may or may not continue to support with season tickets. We debate every year since we make only about half the games. Given the poor run of form over the past years (2016 is the anomaly), it is getting harder and harder to part with my money. The down-turn in 108 dedicated fans is also not helping.... Having said that, I probably will stay with season tickets and keep hoping/wishing for us to pull our heads out. rod.
My though is, and always has been, WE can complain about our team. But by God, nobody else better say anything bad about them. Sort of like WE can punch Jason in the face. But nobody else (including Hinchey) can.... Hoping that is the sign of a true supporter. rod.
