BTW it's really poor that Fleming and Celo are in a studio in Denver instead of a booth at the stadium
At least they were on the front foot. We got to start taking bites out of this elephant. I have a good feeling someone is going to insert himself into the fray.
They definitely move the ball around better than last year. But at this point the Sounders can just stay compact and make it really difficult to get anything.
Kei kamara is great at dropping back and playing midfield. It’s like having an office worker that can also do basic IT things like fixing a printer and installing a new one.
I'm done - reffing 2 matches tomorrow, so going to make sure I snore an appropriate amount overnight.... Here's a hope for a goal for the 'pids.
Tough result. Really think we had a goal in us, but couldn’t get it. My observations: We looked good on offensive possessions, just couldn’t punch it in. Kamara was a workhorse, and Rubio was buzzing around everybody tonight. Acosta ran around a ton. That’s about all I can say there lol. Price had his good moments. Price had his bad moments. Mezquida needs some polishing but could be good player for us this year. Feilhaber? Did anybody else think he looked completely uninterested in playing tonight? He didn’t cover anybody defensively and gave possession away cheaply a number of times. Rosenberry and Serna had solid shifts, Rosenberry the more solid. Wilson didn’t do as horribly as he’s done and Wynne didn’t do as horribly as he’s done before - but a solid CB tandem they are not by any stretch. Not sure any CB duo could’ve stopped their two goals with how poorly marked Seattle was in the first 20min. Celo said it best tho when he said “this team isn’t built to defend.” Not sure why subs and formation tactical changes weren’t made sooner. It clearly wasn’t working very well, so why not do something before 75’? Shinyashiki has a nice little engine. Dude was everywhere after he got on the field. Yeah he was still playing like a rookie, but shows lots of promise if he can learn to read passes quicker. Jackson made a couple nice runs but nobody found him, so other than that he completely disappeared. And finally, Toledo was his usual Toledo self. All in all, just another day in Seattle’s office. Here’s to Kansas City....that should be another fun one...
I expect this from a typical Seattle fan, but not the Athletic's Seattle reporter (second tweet): Do the 5 @ColoradoRapids fans who traveled to #Seattle win Season tickets or part ownership?? #SEAvsCOL #NonExistentFanBase #CRAPids— Tim C ™ 💰 (@Tim_Chadd) March 10, 2019 A new recurring seasonal feature: Most pitiful visiting fan sections. I count exactly eight people wearing burgundy up in section 300. Colorado takes a strong early lead in the rankings— Matt Pentz (@mattpentz) March 10, 2019
To be fair, pretty much all of the responses to Matt Pentz’s tweet are calling him out for being a dick, meaning numerous SEA fans.. Honestly, I never understood the propensity of teams fan bases to attack attendance levels of other teams fan bases. Putting down soccer fans who are as passionate as they are. Self important to say the least.
