How do you think we would finance that? Current transfermarkt value of those players: Dybala - 110M Icardi - 95M Hazard - 150M De Ligt - 50M (i seriously doubt he'll be sold under 70M) Total: 405M
I’m not so sure about those figures, I don’t see Juve parting with Dybs for anything less than €150m unless he pushes for a move and even then it’s difficult. If Hazard doesn’t renew though ... he’d have one year left like Courtois did.
Dybala - £110m Icardi - £70m Hazard - £70m (maybe even less) de Ligt - £50m Total: £300m Sell Modric - £35m Bale - £70m
I can't see Dybala going for less than 150m, Icardi for less than 100m and De Ligt for less than 60-70m. Those teams aren't going to sell for less. I can see Hazard going for less than 150m if he doesn't renew his contract but I doubt he will go for 70m.
I would take James back and hope he can reproduce first season here(2014-2015) and first season at Bayern. With the proper motivation he is the best playmaker in the world easily. Get Hazard if he so keen to play here. Get De Ligt and loan Vallejo again and hope he finally overcome his injury problems. Get experienced striker for a couple of seasons until Rodrygo develops/there is something special on the market or keep it with Benzema/Mariano. Sell Kovacic and Bale. Loan out Llorente or Valverde. Last chances for Isco. Navas, Coutois Carvajal, Odriozola, Nacho, Ramos, Varane, De Ligt, Marcelo, Reguillon Casemiro, Kroos, Ceballos, James, Llorente/Valverde, Isco, Modric Benzema, Vinicius, Asensio, Hazard, Mariano/new striker. If Hazard doesn't renew we would be possibly on + again.
I wasn’t talking about Bale. I couldn’t care less about him right now. I’m talking about James who has previous about throwing shit to the management (not to mention the other stuff he got up to last time around in Madrid) and people recognising him as the second coming.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but transfermkt seems to consistently and substantially underprice high value transfers when the player is not in the final year of a contract -- especially when you look at their values a year before the transfer.
To be fair, two of Isco, Kroos and Modric should be sold. The other can hit the bench. Ceballos isn’t far off and Kovacic should be given a fair shot at a starting role. People talk about our CF and backline, but our starting mid needs to be revamped.
Dybala’s going for Coutinho money at least, probably more. Icardi’s buyout was 115m last summer. 70m is a bit generous considering the thin CF market. Agreed on Hazard, give or take. de Ligt for under 40m would be great but I don’t see Flo investing anymore than that in a CB.
To get stuff done and get the players we want , I think we ll have to exchange players and add money to that. If Chelsea wants Kova for example and we can drop the price for Hazard that way ... But we have to think this through. If we go for Dybala e.g. and sell Asensio , are we doing the right thing ? Dybala is a proven talent , but is he worldclass?
This is not 2009. Dybala alone will go closer to the 200M than 150M. At best i can see Hazard going for 100M + Kovačić. de Ligt around 70-80M while Icardi up to 150M. Not exactly thrilling prices considering none of them is Ballon d Or material. As result possible B - plan: IN: 1. Cavani 2. James 3. de Ligt 4. de Jong 5. Hermoso / winter already??? 6. Rodrygo??? 7. LB - if Marcelo leaves = 250M+ OUT: 1. Bale 2. Vallejo 3. Modrić - lacks drive after winning everything 4. Kovačić?? 5. Marcelo? 6. Lucas 7. Isco??? = 250M / 350M with Isco
Good question, Dybala is proven but maybe slightly over-hyped because of a number of reasons. I have pretty much given up on Asensio after this season. Crap manager and he was played out of position, but I think he's not going to do more than score the odd wonder goal. There is less than two years between Asensio and Dybala but the latter looks miles ahead in terms of talent. Maybe Asensio should just be a pure striker.
But should we pay 100 or more mil for just a slight upgrade ? I think Asensio is still a huge talent , yet wasted on the flanks. Maybe it wiuld take a manager like Pep to get him to know his best position.
Yeah Dybala at that price doesn’t really move the needle on what we already have. He also doesn’t really have any commercial value which Flo will take into consideration
You're not wrong. They always undervalue players. I feel like we (RMBS) put higher prices on players and when the actual negotiations or transfer rumors come out the number are even higher than what we discussed/thought. Its crazy out there. I mean Mendes is getting 7.5M for giving a journalist a few "anonymous" rumors about Mbappe. The whole system stinks.
This isn't about "upgrading".."on what we already have" when James, Morata, or Ronaldo were never replaced to begin with. Plus, whoever else might leave next summer.... looking at you Bale, Modric, and possibly even Benz, Kroos, Isco, Asensio. Let's not forget that we are still relying on Lucas Vasquez to be a game changer.
Given the market, I think we should be limiting our expectations to maybe 1 to 2 galacticos and maybe a couple depth pieces.
I'm on Frenkie de Jong hype train. He will become the best midfielder in the world. What a player an engine, a little bit like De Bruyne but with more technique and finesse. Defensively and offensively very good. Rare to see a player with his technique with such outstanding defensive qualities.
