Maybe because Atlanta United are brand-new and have a new car smell instead of the stench of ineptitude, like every other Atlanta sports franchise? What does Falcons' attendance look like in that same stadium?
Atlanta Falcons' second ever game in Mercedes Benz Stadium. Basically outnumbered by Buffalo fans. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/20...ans-atlanta-falcons-eric-wood-matt-ryan-noise
Man City (along with PSG) are Financial Fair Play cheaters. Anything they win should have an asterisk next to it.

New car smell...uh, OK. To the tune of 70,000? Perhaps you're right DG. I guess my real point is that (maybe wishful thinking) the Bay Area/Silicon Valley could do a LOT better with its only MLS franchise, i.e Attendance, area interest, venue. Anyhow, congrats to Atlanta and its "new car" MLS franchise...
I wasn't disagreeing with you (I was disagreeing with MJ Lee's hypothesis that it has something to do with the price of stadium dogs). Anything Atlanta can do when it's got a winning team, the Bay Area can do better.
I'm not criticizing the crest design here, but does anyone actually care about the "meaning" behind the design elements of MLS team crests? I find it funny that they go to the effort to describe what each detail means, when A, you'd really only ever see it if you bought a jersey yourself or specifically looked it up, and B, it doesn't seem like something all that many people actually care about in the first place. I think it would be refreshing if a team released a logo and was just like, eh, we thought it was cool.
that's an excellent point. Although Foudy's tweet was about the number of passes made before scoring a goal. I think FIFA needs to be dissolved and rebuilt as a real non-profit. When the organizing body is so corrupt, why shouldn't all the subordinate organizations and clubs are equally corrupt.
This Athletic article covers Brad Friedel & Mike Burns at the Revs. Brad Friedel initially announced that the team would be making big changes, but this article says his statement was misinterpreted, and that really they are only going to make a few changes. I didn't realize the team has no DPs, and has open international slots. Their plan is to go with homegrowns, but they have no USL affiliate. Their player salaries are in the lower half of MLS. Anyhow, the article struck me that the Revs are so similar to the Quakes Doyle years. Mike Burns took over as GM after their dismal 2011 5-win season. I guess his resume is similar to John Doyle's. And Burns is working with a bald coach in an MLS 1.0 environment. Friedel apparently had several players in the dog house his first season (in addition to the Lee Nguyen fiasco). After reading this article, I just thought, wow, the Revs are in a worse place than we are... https://theathletic.com/641179/2018...tion-opting-not-to-rebuild/?source=dailyemail
Yeah, they go so far to put a meaning on each little element that it becomes absurd. "Tail-C for Cincinnati." Is this in case we all missed the word "Cincinnati" on the crest?
To their credit, at least they were respectful enough to put the team's full name on the crest rather than putting a nickname on there instead like FC CINCY. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
