I think they are actually better than us, and we have been fortunate to beat them 2 times this year, especially in the 2nd match. We may be better than Colorado though, not sure yet.
Yes, playoff chance is down to 1.2%, lowest in MLS. Wooden Spoon chance is 27.8%, highest in MLS. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/USA/SanJose.html http://www.sportsclubstats.com/USA/MLS.html
All the weekend results went against us with the exception of the Colorado game. We're actually in the sub-basement now.
The Loons are making some moves to improve themselves: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/07/09/minnesota-united-add-ecuadorian-winger-romario-ibarra
Given the Quakes' experience with Ecuadorians, I will take a wait-and-see attitude whether this is an improvement...
So, just because the Quakes signed a flop of an Ecuadorian that makes any Ecuadorian suspect? We didn't sign a 23 year old who has broken into the Ecuadorian national team and scored against both Chile and Argentina in World Cup qualifying games.
The Loons are making even more moves to improve their team while we do what exactly? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...ker-angelo-rodriguez-second-designated-player
Quakes have asked the league to schedule the Loons as an opponent three times instead of two next year.
I would say Colorado is worse only because they are the one team that has a front office staff even more inept than San Jose's and an owner who's even more of a non-factor. But comparing them is like comparing two piles of manure and trying to determine which one stinks less. They both stink, so what difference does it make?
With NYRB's win tonight, new coach Chris Armas, who replaced Jesse Marsch, promoted to RB Leipzig, improves to 2 wins, 1 loss in three games, matching Stahre's MLS win total in just three games, none against Minnesota. It took Stahre 9 games to win 2, where he remains after 19. NYCFC mid-season replacement coach Domenec Torrent's MLS record is 5 wins, 1 loss, likewise winning two of his first three. Seamless mid-season coaching transitions in the NY metro area. The grass is greener. If you are allergic, you might get a rash.....decision? Stahre Out. Fioranelli Out.
This may not be the right thread, but I have seen 2 of about 6 forty minute episodes of First Team Juventus a 2017 documentary about that team available on Netflix. Narrated in English but with English subtitles for Italian comments made in it by the players and coaches. etc. My wife and I are both enjoying it. If you have Netflix you might look for it.
Hey Ned, you can review First Team Juventus over in my soccer movie thread. I don't review TV series, so you won't be overlapping any of my stuff. BTW, I just saw an Amazon Prime announcement that they will carry a similar series on Man City. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/soccer-movies.1800496/page-13
