Going into this weekend, I'm a bit scared. Portland and LA are one and two points below us and have one and two games in hand vs us, respectively. Therefore, if you look at it on a PPG basis, both LA and Portland (at 1.42 and 1.38 points-per-game, respectively, are ahead of the Quakes at 1.36. To me, this means that for all practical purposes, we are currently OUTSIDE the playoffs, regardless of how the table looks at first glance. Unless we beat Portland, I fear we will be below the line in terms of actual standings, because LA travel to play a weak DC United side (lost four of the past five -- three losses at home).

I think our time in the sun may be setting very quickly this season. Looking at the upcoming schedule, it's quite possible we may be flirting with the bottom of the table in a month...

Why be scared? Hasn't this been our default trajectory 8 out of 9 seasons or 9 out of 10 or whatever it is...

    Keep hoping, Charlie Brown! :D
I've lowered my expectations to one good game or a few good plays in the season.

Interesting. One of my best friends growing up lived next door to Marcus Hahnemann. I remember playing soccer in the back yard with Marcus and his cousins when they were visiting from Germany. Marcus was very young at the time, at the most 5 or 6. The story I like to tell is that I told him to go play goalie since he couldn't keep up with us older kids.:) One recollection I do have is of a tow-headed little kid, very focused and intense for someone that age.

while you guys are all watching the Warriors, ORL just tied CHI 0-0 after going down to 9 men. Ted Unkel made a pretty bad 1st ejection. Announcers thought the 2nd ejection was legit, altho I didn't.

ORL has great fans. Their Ref u suck chant was really loud

    Don G gets me.

As A's are still in limbo land, and their chance of heading to SJ is about 1% (would immediately jump by 99% if not for the greedy cnunt SF Midgets), I will still have them in my sig.

If they build a new ballpark in Oakland, then ******** them too. If you ain't San Ho, then fcuck you bitch!!!

Actually, it isn't. (And the blue and green color scheme, which you omitted, is a refreshing part of the original MLS logo).
