And if they ever have a ESPN2 friday night game at home, please make it after 8:00. Traffic blows on Friday rush hour. Screw all the Brits that have to stay up an extra hour!
ESPN2 mainly shows games on Thursdays. So basically, we're surprised that a Friday night playoff game had more viewers than a Thursday night game or the "select" 13 games ESPN2 showed on weekends during the regular season.
Wrong again. ESPN did weekend games up until last year (maybe the year before). Seriously, give up this argument. You lost, and it's just embarrassing now.
SBI's All-Rookie Best XI. Nice to see some credit given to Barnes and Alston even though actual voters failed.
I was excited about the game all day, and even took a short nap to give myself a burst of energy to stay up and watch it. I then proceeded to completely pass out on the couch and miss the entire thing
Apparently, there are people who live west of the Appalachians for whom the game was on at an hour that was not nearly so offensive.

Sadly, no big surprise. I had a feeling Donovan would get it. Those couple of games towards the end where he didn't play all that well, including the Chicago home game, I think hurt him.
Shalrie actually ended up finishing third in the voting, LD had 39% of the votes, Cunningham 25.3%, and Shalrie had 17.6%. I'm actually more pissed off that Donovan won goal of the year than anything else. He wasn't even in the top five after the preliminary voting and then all of a sudden he won. Lopez, Montero, Mathis, Eskandarian, and Jankuaskas all scored goals that were equal if not better. There's not a doubt in my mind that it was rigged.
Not being Landon Donovan hurt him. Taking nothing away from Donovan and his accomplishments, his position as the USMNT's most valuable player heading into a World Cup year almost certainly swayed some voters.
Maybe Shalrie should have won, but I really cant argue with Donovan winning it. He had an outstanding season for a team that had a very good year.
Not really serious, but there hasn't ever been a black league mvp. * 2008 Guillermo Barros Schelotto (CLB) * 2007 Luciano Emilio (D.C.) * 2006 Christian Gómez (D.C.) * 2005 Taylor Twellman (N.E.) * 2004 Amado Guevara (MET) * 2003 Preki (K.C.) * 2002 Carlos Ruiz (L.A.) * 2001 Alex Pineda Chacon (MIA) * 2000 Tony Meola (K.C.) * 1999 Jason Kreis (DAL) * 1998 Marco Etcheverry (D.C.) * 1997 Preki (K.C.) * 1996 Carlos Valderrama (T.B.)
