No offense, the transfer sums are insane but this is how the reality has been for almost all BL clubs in comparison to Bayern (and to a lesser degree Dortmund or the other bigger clubs who pick up the talents from the smaller clubs). They cannot compete financially with Bayern or Dortmund and the differences between the clubs become bigger and bigger every year. I doubt that the other BL clubs are that much more concerned to lose their talents to the Evertons or Manchesters in contrast to losing them to Bayern. Rummenigge has warned about this development before but for obvious reasons, his warnings aren't taken seriously.

What rival are we keeping him away from? He stated his interests were playing for Bayern, or someone outside of Germany. No BL club was going to sign him other than Bayern.

Did you read the thread title before writing your stupid and very unnecessary "who cares" comment?

Slash, I think you have a lot to contribute to these forums, and I like reading your posts (sometimes). Just try to tone yourself down a bit man ... a lot of the times these forums just end up devolving into negativity, polemics, and argumentations for no good reason. Hell, even the twitter AI turned into a racist homophobe ... that's just a reflexion of human nature I suppose ... kind of sad if you think about it.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are doing their best to settle Dembele in after his disrupted start to life at the Nou Camp, given the pressure on a 20-year-old signed for nine figures to replace one of the world's best players.

In order to take care of his diet, Barca have provided a chef for Dembele's use, so that the French forward does not become reliant on fast food.

Dembele also reportedly requested a barbecue in order for him to cook in the garden of his home, which has been provided.
Barcelona have also paid for a security guard at Dembele's home, as well as arranging for doctors and physios to visit him and help his recovery

I'm sorry this kid is making how many millions a year, and he can't afford to buy a grill? I can get a Webber charcoal grill for less than $50 dollars.

Why not ask for it in your contract. Barcelona agreed.

There is more to negotiating contracts then money. Take what you can get

If I was paying a superstar salary to a 20 year old player from a foreign country I would also send a chef to make sure he eats healthy. It's a no-brainer.

It's up to the fans of the club to react. Stop buying their merchandise.

Just to play devil's advocate here. If I am a young superstar with a budding career ahead of me or if I am the superstar's caretaker I wouldn't wait for the club to assign a chef. It is peanuts compared what he makes in weeks wages and is a drop in the ocean to what he could earn over the course of his career. Penaldo e.g. spends a ton from his own pocket on veneering his teeth, shaving his balls, hiring a sleeping coach, nutritionist, bathing specialist etc. And it all pays off.

Ronaldo would be nowhere near as good a player if he had imperfect teeth and hairy balls. Money well spent.

Absolutely, but no one accused Ousmane of being mature beyond his years, nor his dad of being a prescient professional mentor. Barca realizes that he won't reach the upper echelon of class without world-class diligence and attention to detail, and are hoping that he "gets it" with guidance. It would be even better to have a French-speaking veteran mentor at the club...
