I can't really judge how good or bad Zwayer is as a ref and it doesn't have anything to do with today's match, but around the start of the season, Zwayer was named by referee Manuel Gräfe as an example for supposed favoritism and intransparent actions by former refs Fandel and Krug in their jobs that concerned the nomination of referees and allocation of games. I'd say there has to happen much for an active referee to question the competence of a fellow colleague by publicly asking how someone like Zwayer could rise to the top of german referees and whether the likes of Fandel and Krug wanted people who owe them.
We see this across leagues and in nearly every match. Referees aren't highly paid and even if they were human greed rarely has limits. Putting them as judges in the midst of businesses amongst whom enormous sums of money is exchanged is bound to cause abnormalities.
VAR has been questionable. We benefited from it in one situation earlier this year that was not a penalty imho.
I think the red was fair enough today. It's a shame, because it could have been a great match, but the ref had no choice. The ref on Wednesday on the other hand was seriously questionable.
It's blatantly obvious that Bayern are cheating. How much more evidence do you need? They opposed VAR vehemently for years. Now they've swallowed the pill and are paying more. It's no small wonder why they haven't paid more for big talent.
[emoji121]️[emoji121]️disgruntled BVB Fan SPITZENREITER!!!! Jupp deserves some serious credit here Why can’t we all celebrate that the PLASTIC team has been put in its place?!
Honestly.... bringing in stability via Jupp was an excellent idea. You still aren't in top form, but it's massive improvement for the remainder of the year. Perhaps you can make a run at Bosz in the summer? [emoji12] I'll admit I was cheering for RB this match.
[QUOTE="Liquid1010, post: 36022849, member: 156089"You still aren't in top form, but it's massive improvement for the remainder of the year.[/QUOTE] Clearly, we are quite vulnerable with only one real striker. I blame Uli and his cheap skate transfer policy.
Of course I'm disgruntled. Your management was quick to toss an impotent coach out asap. Ours keep blaming the players. A simple change of switching to a 4-2-3-1 and letting players play their natural positions will do them a world of good along with making Weigl and Dahoud permanent starters. And RB isn't a plastic club. And if they are then by the same definition so is Hoffenheim, VfL and Bayer. By the same definition other "plastic" clubs across Europe have done a lot more damage to the game.
Watching the highlights of the Premier League and it just highlights why the Bundsliga teams are in decline. Sane was brilliant and scored a screamer, but fair enough Schalke actually got a big offer for him, though they could have gotten more. Then you see Matip, who may not be the greatest centre back, but is solid. They let him go for free. Then you see Kolasinac, the MOTM for Arsenal. I know a few Arsenal season ticket holders and they rave about how good he is. How can a club let Matip and Kolasinac both go for free? Then how can they let Goretzka and Meyer go for free in the summer to come? It's madness, complete madness. At the very least those 4 should have given Schalke £100million plus instead they will go for free.
FC Scheisse if it were managed properly would probably be ahead of us, I'm not losing sleep over their incompetence.
If Schalke were managed better they'd be a legitimate title contender every season. Just imagine if they'd kept Neuer, Draxler, Sane and added Ozil and Gundogan who were born and raised in the same city. Their youth program is amongst the best in Europe, have a world class stadium and could milk Gazprom for record deals. It's like dating a supermodels but cannot not even Viagra can keep it up.
You guys are playing at home, and it’s Bayern, so I expect you all to go into God-Mode. As far as reds go, who knows, lets see if our check clears...
Btw, on this crappy matchday, Bender and Ginter both scored and gave their teams the lead after being behind goals. I'm happy for both if they do well but Gladbach played Ginter in midfield. As a CB, he wasn't just bad in the game against us. Didi Hamann recently said that we are lacking a defensive minded midfielder. That might have been his own bias but to a degree, I have to agree with him.
Your players aren't stupid like the RBL ones. Orban took a risk, that you could get away with before video replay. Now those kinds of risky fouls will be punished more often.
BvB Zagadou got a red card this weekend for a similar offence. Once that was called to VAR, the excuse of "I didn't see it" goes out. It leaves the ref with very little choice
Defenders might start choosing to play breakaway 1v1 situations straight up instead of grabbing the attacker, knowing that VAR increases the chance that they will be sent off. May as well apply clean pressure and hope for a blown shot or save. If so, I would see that as a positive trend. Intentional fouling should be de-incentivized.
MANCHESTER -- Jose Mourinho has accused Henrikh Mkhitaryan of "disappearing" this season and revealed the midfielder has been left out of Manchester United's last two squads as punishment. http://www.espnfc.us/manchester-uni...h-mkhitaryan-for-dissappearing-for-man-united
