Ideal outcomes for today’s games are POR beating MIN and DCU destroying SEA. Both of those outcomes would help our chances of sneaking into 2nd or 3rd place in WC by end of season.
Eastern Conference battle for #1 isn’t much of a battle so far - Mitrita first half hat-trick puts NYCFC up 3-0 over ATL. Side note - The tiny, tiny NY pitch makes a joke out of the game. They may as well go all the way and put up boards and play indoor soccer style.
Watch out for NYFC in the playoffs Undefeated in last 9 Heber and Moralez are a great combo Yankee stadium
Can you imagine the nonsense that will go on if they make it all the way through to MLS Cup and are the higher seed? A final at Yankee stadium?
Gigantic factor. And NYCFC leading EC is absolute worst case scenario for new playoff format. MLS Cup on that field?? Edit: what @cleschke and @Dr.Phil said.
Omg, Portland up 2-0 in 80th minute and conspire to draw 2-2. The equalizer was a completely unnecessary pk in the 97th minute. Quakes thought they were up 2-0 to see VAR take it away and now it’s 1-1 in the 74th minute. I love this league.
Minnesota and Seattle play each other and Minnesota also plays Chivas 2.0. Second place is staring us in the face.
So we play portland at the moment? Not sure who i'd prefer between them and Dallas. Dallas seems to always give us trouble though.
MLB playoffs and other events may force #NYCFC out of Yankee Stadium for the MLS playoffs, including MLS Cup (if they hosted). A look at solutions for #NYCFC, plus other MLS stadium conflicts that are creating havoc ahead of the playoffs: https://t.co/bxATAtgPro pic.twitter.com/WhS9qnIihc— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) September 26, 2019 This is embarrassing
Actually it's more embarrassing that MLS let them play on a pitch that is more than likely to be nonregulation. Moving elsewhere seems suitable punishment.
I really meant it on whole. Every other team when they enter the league has to have their stadium figured out, NYCFC did not. Its been 4 years and they still do not have it fugred out.
Whenever, NYCFC soccer stadium situation comes up I always think of Don Garber as Mr. Burns and the absurdly small Spruce Moose as Yankee Stadium. C'mon, visiting team - hop in and play! This is soccer!
LAFC are the best team in the league but any air of invincibility is long gone. They've won just one of six against the other top teams in the West (MNUFC, Seattle, Galaxy). #MNUFCvLAFC— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) September 30, 2019
So, no Diomonde, Zimmerman or Kaye possibly for LAFC's opening playoff match? 1184291306173956096 is not a valid tweet id
Diomonde just reinstated which is a big boon to their chances. Possible final opp Atlanta loses key player Miles Robinson. More likely opp NYCFC would have to leave their baseball field and fly cross country to play them if they make it. Point? LAFC have only themselves (or maybe Zlatan) to blame if they fail to win MLS Cup.
