Switzerland. That's somewhat unique, so it won't feel like bandwagoning like England and Germany. And everyone knows how attractive the Swiss are.
Hey, you think like me. Support the team whose got the hottest babes. Italian and French women are nice, but Brazil women are muito gostosaaaaa, so after some re-evaluation (a femto-second), I'm a Brazilian supporter now.
But it's Brazil. Can't cheer for Brazil unless you're connected to the place, or it's bandwagoning. (My father and I have an ongoing debate on this.)
Man that's crazy how much it costs just for the A badge. Someone in the comments said a B is 3k. So when it's all said and done, it seems like you're spending ~10k to work your way up to an A badge. It's no wonder there are so few top level coaches in the country. And I agree with him in that it's not the only thing that should be fixed, but it would certainly help move the US in the right direction to have more A/B badged coaches to help bring up these kids while they're still young enough to be developed.
Lived in Argentina, so I guess that's where my loyalties go. If I could hope for their success during the Maradona-as-head-coach dumpster fire, I can sure do it now. Fun side note, they have a better track record of coming in second than even RSL!
I'll likely just tune into some of the bigger games and hope they're good. I'm kind of leaning towards hoping France wins it, but overall I just want to see some good games.
None of the RSL-related players who've appeared the USMNT youth squads made the jump to the big boys for the friendly against Portugal. I wouldn't mind seeing Glad on there instead of Ream, but I'm not sure he's really ready yet.
Glad is ready. I expect/hope for a January Camp Cupcake callup for him and Acosta and maybe even Lennon
I dunno. It's not the end of the world. It's just the World Cup. There will be another one in four years and it's not like it's as important as the birth of a child.
Very funny! You know there is a sport that is screaming for pro/tell for real and that is college football. Seriously you could make it work. It makes sense. Why should a team like Iowa State get to stay in a top conference? They last won a conference title in 1911. That's right, 105 years ago. Not all in the Big 12 but come on.
Not sure if serious either. Having worked in college athletics at both the school and conference level, I can tell you that this is less likely than US soccer adopting pro/rel (which is about 5% now)
Further, there isn't a significant barrier of entry for a D2 school to become D1. NCAA has rules that setup how to do this. This is the worst example of a place needing pro/rel so I'm really hoping you were being sarcastic.
Totally serous. Not between FBS or FCS but rather the Major conferences and the 'mid majors'. My idea would be to tie conferences to each other like the Pac12 and the MWC with one school moving up and one down each season. The top tier gets to play in the bowl playoffs or whatever they are and the lower tier the other bowls. Just like now. The only difference being that a team like Boise State if it wins the MWC gets to play the next season in the PAC 12 and horrible Oregon State gets to join the MWC for the next season. Do this across the country. Take Iowa State for example, other than geography, WTF have they ever done to 'deserve' playing in a major conference? Absolutely nothing. They last won a conference title in 19 effing 11. Vanderbilt 0 SEC titles. Last conference title 1923. Indiana 2 Titles 1945, 1967 Rutgers 1 big east title and a National Championship in 1869. Yes. 1869. Kansas has 8 whopping titles. The last being in 1968. 3 in the 1800's The list can go on and on with teams in the major conferences last winning titles before many here were probably born. It's always bothered me that it's such an arbitrary and inequitable setup. This would fix it.
