No medal ceremony for the men? Anyone know if it is supposed to follow the match? If not, does anyone know when it happens and which channel will show it? EDIT: OK. Nevermind. Soccer Channel went to that list of games but game back after 6:30 for the medals.

Well this is too late for you Danielmak but according to NBCSportsPR twitter - the ending of the match/the Gold Medal Ceremony/Anthem was shown on NBC starting at 11:37 pm ET last night. Now did they show the complete ending of the match/the whole Gold Medal Ceremony (all three teams getting their medals) and the anthem (which had to shown in full right?) - I wouldn't know because I didn't see this. Was busy watching my recording of the Womens Volleyball Final at the time since I didn't want that to be spoiled - I didn't check any twitter. Unfortunately I went right to bed once the volleyball match ended so I didn't bother to check twitter. If I had check twitter - I would have saw the NBCSportsPR tweet about NBC showing it on their prime-time broadcast and thus I could have taped the last half-hour of morning replay. Oh well.
Brazil’s historic gold-medal win over Germany in men’s soccer averaged 2.3 million viewers on @NBCSN – best for Rio 2016 men’s soccer— NBC Sports PR (@NBCSportsPR) August 21, 2016 Brazil-Germany men’s soccer gold-medal final on @NBCSN peaked at 3.4 million viewers for game’s conclusion (on PKs) from 7-7:15pm ET— NBC Sports PR (@NBCSportsPR) August 21, 2016
Soccer channel showed walkout, anthems, full match with no interruptions. Then they went to the logo they had been using when not airing matches (a list of the 1/2 finalists and the final matches for this screensaver). Then they came back for the medals. I don't think they showed the bronze medal ceremony, but maybe I was too impatient and stopped my recording too early. I can say that since the bronze match was in another city the ceremony was not part of the gold and silver, which was stupid. They should be played in the same stadium or close enough to get the bronze winner to the stadium.
Well that was poor, NBC. At least if a soccer fan complains about your EPL coverage you can now point to your Olympics coverage and say 'consider yourself lucky'. Won't here a peep from the soccer fan after that. - Lots of stuff shown on tape-delay; - Lots of stuff not shown at all, which can sometimes be understandable but not when ... (see next bullet point) - The same match/event shown on multiple channels at the same time (and the same language!) - Commentators mostly off-sight. Reminded me of BeIN. But just 'kiddin, BeIN. You're not that bad.
Hard Knocks ratings, conflicts in tennis broadcasting & @JeffDarlington moves from NFLN to ESPN. SI Media column: https://t.co/zgj5WNjshr— Richard Deitsch (@richarddeitsch) August 22, 2016 Which NBC broadcasters deserve gold medals for their efforts in Rio? Gold Medals - Soccer broadcaster Arlo White’s call of the penalty kicks during the men’s gold medal soccer match between Brazil and Germany - The broadcaster - normally assigned to Premier League games - delivered perfectly during the tension-filled penalties. He was particularly brilliant on the save by Brazilian goalie Weverton Pereira da Silva on Germany’s fifth kick as well as the lead-up to Neymar’s kick that sent Brazil into ecstasy. In addition to White, I thought it was a terrific decision by NBC to replay the entire penalty kick session during its coverage on prime-time Saturday night. (LB - Guess that answers part of the question I had in an earlier post - whether NBC showed the whole penalty-kick "session" or they just showed the final two penalty-kicks. Also congrats to Arlo on getting a well deserved "Gold Medal". ) NBCSN - The channel was a joy for hardcore Olympic fans who wanted to experience the Games the way we experience most sports - from start to finish. It was also an oasis when you wanted to get away from main NBC’s packaging to discover the best part of the Olympics, which is seeing great athletes you normally never see in sports that feel fresh. Silver Medals - NBC’s Hosts - Solid work all around, from Dan Patrick to Mike Tirico to Rebecca Lowe etc. http://www.si.com/olympics/2016/08/21/rio-olympics-summer-games-2016-nbc-tv-coverage-ratings
And a gold medal for the Soccer Channel that was way better this time around than in 2012 (partially a product of Brazil staggering times in more effective ways). But no medal for commercial interruptions on the other channels. Only a bronze medal for the bronze match since a medal celebration wasn't shown.
