So based on my total disdain for Herdman I was nearly in Nirvana. First Herdy cleverly orchestrates Buchanan's exodus from the third group match with two yellow cards. Then in the 83rd minute Australia is still beating Germany and Herdy is sweating thru a very expensive shirt. If the Aussies hang on Herdman gets to play Germany without his best CB and ending up in 3rd place on GD a real possibility. And what is the reward for third? Either the US or Brazil. But alas my glee was transformed into glum.
I can't wait until the John Herdman era is over. I probably would tolerate the team more if they didn't have such a prick for a coach.

Thugredi scored twice? btw is it just me or does Neid look like she's phoning it in at this point and on vacation?
Germany brought the kitchen sink at Canada the last 15' but ccouldnt breakthrough the Canadian Defense. Crazy!
I'm glad Brazil has to share in the pain of the United States. Their fans seemed to have it out for the U.S. every second of this tournament, and many probably rejoiced and taunted when the U.S. fell to Sweden. Sort of poetic justice. Knocked out by a team they cheered on in the previous round. Not so easy to get past Pia, is it? Not even with home field advantage. 765611486400155648 is not a valid tweet id And it makes the U.S.'s defeat slightly less painful in that we know the we aren't the only top ten team clumsy enough to by stymied by Sweden's bunkering in a knockout match. I wouldn't mind Brazil getting the bronze though. Perhaps I'd be rooting against them if I had to look at them wear their false five-star crest on their jerseys, or if they were playing any other team but Canada.
