Japan leads 1-0 at halftime on a 30m strike by Ryota Oshima, who plays for the best club in the world.

First useful thing by Minamino in this tournament: an assist for a goal scored by Ideguchi.

... and lol at the reaction of Iran's coach who is watching from the stands, while the commentator said: "You will be the next victim:D".

LOL, that is one of the worst decision I've ever seen.

Embarrassing penalty call haha. Apparently Ueda can clear the ball into the stands and kick his opponent at the same time. Must be his national TKD champion superpowers.

Apparently he kicked the opponent's face, leg, and the ball at the same time. The new Chuck Norris.

lol, only in the Arab Football Confederation do you get a penalty called for clearing the ball. Saudi player also should have been sent off for that studs up foul.

Allow me to explain. As Ueda withdrew his foot, the Saudi player was hit by the bow shock created by Ueda in his face. Then a sniper shot the same Saudi player's leg at the same time, so the Saudi player wasn't diving.

Kubo wide open but Asano tries to shoot and miss-kicks it completely.

    Yes.

N.Korea drew with Thailand, and finish second based on more goals scored rule (N.Korea, Saudi and Thailand all have 2 points).

I watched some parts of N.Korea's game and their boys seem to be very dangerous in the attacking zone, so not to concede against them was a good thing.

    QF:

    Japan vs Iran.
    Qatar vs N.Korea.

what the heck happend here? Don't think I am blind, already started dispensing warnings.
Don't want to go back naming people anyway since thankfully we moved on to the match, but a reminder to whoever reads this post: keep your comments civil. Thanks.

That was one of the most hilarious PK calls in a while indeed. Disappointed in Asano still playing very little though :/

I stopped discussing with them after they used racial expressions towards me, and I really considered reporting their posts to the mods but opted against it.

We are now in the 21st century, yet there are still people who abuse others racially?

What does a member race/ethnicity has to do with his opinions about sports in a sport-related forum?

Second consecutive ridicolous penalty-call by referees. Really?

    Anyway, 9 points are good.

I love how you're pretending to be all innocent and tolerant.

Anyways, this is a pointless discussion now, good luck to both teams on Friday.

Australia knocked out after a goalless draw against Jordan.

    QF:

    1- Qatar vs N.Korea.
    2- Japan vs Iran.
    3- S.Korea vs Jordan.
    4- UAE vs Iraq.

    SF:

    QF1 winner vs QF3 winner.
    QF2 winner vs QF4 winner.

This means that we won't face S.Korea in the semis, and we will face either UAE or Iraq if we beat Iran.
