PS: US commentators from MLS really suck.

Too bad for Australia. They could have used a point to help them to advance.

Andres Cantor calling Argentina - Iceland don't understand all he says but he's my favorite. 1-1 at 27 min.

That was a really entertaining match. The sports bar where I watched it wasn't overly crowded, but people were very much into the match and the place erupted when Ronaldo buried that free kick.

Also, what a result from Iceland this morning.

I am ashamed to say the number of times I've watched Messi miss from the spot, he must be crazy not to let someone reliable step up he cost Argentina 2 points. As far as the Messi v Cristiano Ronaldo bout, CR7 wins round 1 by a merciless ass kicking 3 goals to zero.
I still like Iceland unlike Messi they are the mouse that roars

"On his father's side, he is of Italian and Spanish descent, the great-grandson of immigrants from the northcentral Adriatic Marche region of Italy and Catalonia, and on his mother's side, he has primarily Italian ancestry." He couldn't possibly be a pussy could he?

I don't have to like everybody who has italian descent - nor everybody who is italian either. I really don't like him nor the Argentinian team. I would support Argentina only if they were playing Brazil and - maybe - Spain.

I can't believe Rafa is playing his fifth WC. The guy is a real scumbag, but it remains a great accomplishment.

And a bunch of other guys must be at their third WC, Ochoa perhaps at his 4th?

I think Neymar and Sergio Ramos are the players I can't stand the most these days. In the past, when he was still playing, the Palme d' Or was for the former Franch GK Barthez.

Big change in the 2014 World Cup semi-finalists. Netherlands didn't even qualify. And both Argentina and Germany looked flat. And although Brazil played a bit better, it wasn't enough.

Hope Ben is watching Sweden v South Korea. It's what happens when fit (exceptionally so) Korean players run the legs off their opponents. The Swedes tried to play rough with their opponents and are getting the worst of the physical clashes. Not pretty to watch.

Which leads me to wonder what a 48 team tournament will look like.
