this is the best XI i can imagine right now playing for CR ******************De lemus****************** ***Drummond********Cordero***********Badilla*** Myre***********************************Angulo ***** Centeno*******************Hernandez***** *******************A. Alonso****************** *********Saborio******************Ruiz********* notes: Armando Alonso has never played in the CRNT (only youth teams) It took me like 2 minutes to think in my fav goalie... we got none
Bryan Ruiz, Alvaro Saborio, Oscar Rojas, Randall Azofeifa, and Douglas Sequiera will join the national team to play against Jamaica on February 6.
Costa Rica 0 Iran 0 I didn't watch the game but all im hearing is that we played awful and only had 1 shot on goal. The press from Iran seems to be upset and thinks we came for the money and not to win the game. If we don't get the victory and play well against Jamaica with the 8 abroad players, Medford should either be sacked or stop playing his friends (Drummond, Gomez, Cordero, ect), or we'll be saying goodbye to the World Cup real early
This NT plays like shit, i saw the game and to be honest we were very lucky to get the tie, we had one shot on goal in the entire game.Medford should really consider about quiting his job, he´s getting us nowhere
I didn't see the game but all I have been hearing is that we got outplayed. Medford....is it even wise to sack him two years before the World Cup? All that would mean is that we will be back at block one. Can someone tell me what the lineup was?
Ricardo González, Gabriel Badilla, Victor Cordero, Ricardo Harris, Leonardo González, Michael Umaña, José Luis López, Carlos Hernández, Walter Centeno, Alejandro Alpizar y Víctor Núñez.
Manudo, you emailed me how you figure out the UEFA coefficient. Here it is: Obviously, we don't have a group phase for the CCC so I ommited the extra 3 points you receive for qualifying to the CCC.
Was Ricardo Harris really impressive? Radio Monumental said that Medford will keep calling him because he had impressed in the game against Haiti and todays game against Iran.
Not at all, most of Iran´s ofensive action took place in the side he was covering, and he comitted a foul inside the area that should have been called a penalty.
watching the highlights on youtube it looks like your defense was putting your goalie in front of a firing squad. Iran had tons of chances to score due to bad defensive play, but your goalie kept you guys in the game, HUGE plus, i'll give him an A. Only reason he doesnt get an A+ was because there was a couple of plays early on in the game that he came out of the box and Iran had clear chances to put the ball away. I dont know if it's just the highlights, but it seemed liked Iran was working your team over pretty hard. But fact that it wasnt a blow out kept your boys in the game mentally which is great. They'll have a chance to learn where the mistakes were made and how to improve. Had it been a blow out I doubt your guys would've kept their heads in the game. A tie against a good team that played good football like Iran did in this game can only be better for you guys down the road.
The thing is that this is our 9th consecutive game without a victory, thats the reason everybody is unhappy with the NT; and yes our goalie was superb yesterday.
at least you guys are holding your own with bigger and better international teams. Not all central american teams can say that.
Costa Rica vs Jamaica Our Starting 11 Ricardo Gonzalez Jervis Drummond Victor Cordero Pablo Chinchilla Andres Nunez Junior Diaz Randall Azofeifa Walter Centeno Carlos Hernandez Bryan Ruiz Alvaro Saborio I would take out Drummond, Cordero, Chinchilla, and Nunez for Badilla, Umana, Montero, and Rojas but oh well. Hope we win!
Final Costa Rica 1 Jamaica 1 Horrible defense on the corner kick Damn our defense is pathetic....Cordero, Drummond, Chinchilla, and Nunez better not be starters for the qualifiers or we are going to get killed. That goal was embarassing
Guys, I caught the whole match cause it was on FSC live, and I must say that first it was a pretty boring one. The soccer displayed was not first rate football (like CR has accustomed us to seeing). Other than that I must say that Jamaica looked pretty weak. Some plays on their offensive breaks were quite awful. Players were just missing the goal left and right. I understand this is not the CR team most of the ones here want on the field, and am uncertain if this is the first rate Jamaica squad--but they certainly didn't look like one. Hope you guys can get it together by the qualifiers.
You are exactly right...it hurts to admit it but the football we are displaying is pure sh*t...it sucks to see that our goalie is always the player of the match. Its been 1 year already and after 20 matches or so we still don't have a decent style of play or a good base. It's time to find a solid well prepared coach (Rodrigo Kenton) and fire Medford now. I say if Guatemala doesn't qualify to the Olympics, we should fire Medford and sign Rodrigo Kenton because he's proven to be capable of winning and putting together competitive teams.
Article written by Everardo Herrera ..........................................................................................................
