Not that it really matters, but that's the last trade for one of our draft picks out there. We have a 2nd round pick next year from LA in the JJ trade and a conditional pick next year from DC in the Sarvas trade but no other trades of our picks other than next year's 1st round pick.

I kind of thought that since you were posting here and this thread got bumped that it meant Pablo finally came out with some type of statement about his tenure.
As much as I thought he had to go, with the way things have gone since they fired him,I sort of wish they had just let him finish out the season and then resign with some dignity. Its not like the interim situation is any better or a whiff of that new coach smell has drifted over DSGP.
It's better this way. Had they waited, Steve Cooke would be in pole position (let's be honest about the team adnd organization we support). The interim designation has been granted, and the inevitable collapse has followed.... The option's been removed. The Rapids will have to proceed without a net - no matter how poor. Let's hope they make the right decision. At least one option will - unless there's a massive MASSIVE turnaround - off the table.
Also, with the way it has happened, Pablo is able to say "I was doing the best one could expect with what I was given. See how poorly they played after I left". I can't imagine how frustrating it must have been to be in that position and suffered through that much failure for such a competitive guy.
I wonder if he can spin that into a gig somewhere? I doubt anyone will hire him as the head coach at the moment. I do wonder if, around MLS, what the impression is regarding the Mastroeni and Rapids. Is it that Mastroeni wasn't up to the task, or are the Rapids such a crap-fest that he did what he could even if he is inexperienced? I wish the guy the best. He could go be an assistant somewhere and learn the trade a bit more before stepping back up.
Heard a rumor/prediction that he'll end up as an assistant to Bruce Arena with the Nats. Which is probably a good fit for him right now.
One thing Pablo's departure confirmed is the lack of talent on the roster. Regardless of coach, this roster isn't competitive anywhere near the present MLS level. USL (maybe), but definitely not MLS.
He would be a very good assistant, coaching defense ... is that a position one would be happy with after having been head coach? I don't know ... like Jasonma said, if it is an option, help coaching the nats sounds pretty darn good.
As bad as he washed out as a head coach he should be more than happy to be an assistant coach on a top 25 national team. If he has an issue with that he has a ego problem I wasn't aware of.
Guess I wasn't clear, I think he would be a decent assistant coaching defensive techniques on another MLS team ... if Pablo lands the assist coach role for the nats, I think he's taking a step up.
That was on my mind as a possibility for hm. It wouldn't be a bad legacy for Arena if he trains up a generation of future coaches.
I just can't see this given the hot seat that Arena is on these days, maybe after we qualify. I think the fans and Media would crucify him given PM's record as a coach.
