Nick Menza died a year and a day ago, and had not been on any albums since, uh, maybe Cryptic Writings? Based on when I last saw them (2013? friend had free Gigantour tickets in Milwaukee, and I had nothing better to do) Dave can't and should not sing some songs.
Found out David Byrne (Talking Heads) and St. Vincent (St. Vincent) did a collaboration album together and it's great: I don't really like most of St. Vincent's stuff on her own (haven't heard much though), but she just blends into whatever collaboration she does. Her other awesome one that I know of was with Andrew Bird:
Fixed your post. Best live performer out there at the moment. If you can see her live, do it. If you can see her live in a relatively small venue (as opposed to a huge outdoor megaf*ck concert-which is still great, as demonstrated below), definitely do it. I saw her at the Riviera a few years ago and it was terrific. Saw her two years ago or so at the Chicago Theater, but it was not quite as terrific.
It is Polish hip hop night at the bar. Kalibre 43 (sic) Zero 52 Debianc (sic) Sokol On my phone, so I cannot link vidoes. Consider yourself fortunate I cannot.
I only learned like two years ago the founder of the Foo Fighters was in Nirvana. I think that's right anyway.
Yep. Dave Grohl was the drummer in Nirvana. No matter what you think of foo fighters, Dave Grohl is pretty badass. For an example, see the concert where he fell off the stage and broke his leg, but finished the concert sitting in a chair.
I'm probably one of like 4 people who like Foo Fighters better than Nirvana (3 are current members of Foo Fighters).
Make it five. I respect them for what they did for music, but I don't really like a lot of it. Maybe I'll listen to Nevermind every once in a while, but I much prefer Foo Fighters. I'll say it again: Nirvana was very influential and I appreciate them as such. Just not that much of a fan.
I was shocked at their influence as so many other bands in the '80's were doing music that was "grungy" and better. It's kinda like Elvis. The music that made him is so much better than him I don't idolize him in any way like people do Nirvana. Learn your roots, kids! Nickleback all the way!
So these are a thing: I love Bob's Burgers and The National, so I'm very happy. Here's one by St. Vincent:
